ShopFreely ripped me off. I ordered 5 fans from them in July. They sent the blades but not motors. We immediately notified them of the omission. They informed me after the purchase that motors were sold separately, even though their website was clearly misleading and did not mention that. They never offered a return or refund. By the time I was able put in a claim with PayPal, SF denied the refund because it was after 90 dayseven though I reported the incomplete shipment within 30 days. Below is their email from the PayPal dispute, in which they say that it was beyond the timeframe. Following that is the email that clearly indicates it was reported within the time frame. Although they state that the motors are sold separately, that was not disclosed on their product page from which I ordered. Emails and messages are printed in full and verbatim below. Please see the attached spec sheet for more information regarding the motor kits for this item which are customizable to where different size and color blades can be purchased separately to fit the motor. The light kits are also optional and sold separately, which can be customized in color for either a one-tone or a two-tone look and style. We see that your order dates to 7/9/2021, and unfortunately, the manufacturers warehouse has a 90-day return policy, and we do not have the ability to accept this return. Hello,
We had initially reached out to the customer in July of 2021 informing him that he had only purchased the fan blades. The light kit and motor need to be purchased separately. At that point, we did not hear back from the customer and considered the case closed. On 12/7/2021, 5 months later, he reached out requesting a return. We can sometimes work with our warehouses to accept returns that are a few weeks late, but it is very difficult to have any recourse when it is 5 months after trying to handle the situation in July of 2021.
7/28/21 Reached out saying he only received the fan blades
7/30/21 - ShopFreely told him the motor was separate from the blades
12/7/21 The customer requested a return
12/9/21 ShopFreely informed him we couldnt accept the return since it was passed the hard cutoff of 90 days
We are happy to offer the customer a 20% discount on a future orders with our site to try to make up for the bad experience.
