We booked our wedding for 10/24/20 however due to Covid pandemic we postponed to 10/23/21, due to the ongoing pandemic and I am immune suppressed we cancelled our wedding. They kept our $7000 deposit. All our other vendors gave at least 50% of our deposit backBusiness response

********************* and ******************* first booked with Waverly Oaks Golf Club in August 2019 for a wedding date on 10/23/2020. They signed a binding contract with a $2000.00 non-refundable deposit. On April 20, 2020, a second deposit was received in the amount of $5000.00 On June 12, 2020, ************************* requested to transfer their original date due to the pandemic to a new date in 2021. Waverly Oaks transferred all deposits to their new contracted date of 10/23/21, with a resigning of a new contract, and did not charge them the 2021 price increase. For other couples we waited until 2 months prior to their wedding date to transfer but we made an exception for ************************* as she is immune suppressed to allow them to transfer 4 months prior to their original contracted date.
On February 16, 2021 ***** contacted Waverly Oaks to cancel the wedding event. Per the cancellation policy in the signed contract, if we can recontract the date, we will retain the non-refundable deposit but refund and additional deposits. Waverly Oaks tried to rebook the 10/23/21 date but was not successful. A copy of the resigned contract for 10/23/21 is attached.
