On March 19, 2022, we paid PTown Company an $18,000 deposit for "materials needed to purchase lumber for deck construction." We had previously discussed that the deck needed to be fully built and completed by April 1, 2022, which owner *********************** assured us would not be an issue. As of April 30, 2022, construction on the deck had not even begun, and ***** admitted on a phone call that the lumber had never been purchased. When asked where our $18,000 was, ***** said he had used it to pay for other expenses and purchases, none of which we had discussed or authorized in writing. ***** agreed to refund us the full amount of the $18,000 while we came up with a new construction plan. As of May 8, 2022, that refund has never gone through to our account. ***** has ceased communication with us at this point.
