Very rude cashiers and the manager ******* is no better. I cant believe it. My dad shops at stop and shop for years. I forgot my lunch heading to work and I stopped to buy something there. They were so rude. I left the items and walked out. They were laughing at my inconvenience and the questions I were asking. Cant believe it.Review from Shari S

I could not reach management when I was in the store. The manager's name was ******** and they called her to the customer service desk at least twice. She was "too busy unloading trucks" to respond to the request. **** interacted with me and was frustrated that I would not accept his reasoning related to a purchase that I was attempting to make in which the advertised price was the not the price that was ringing at the register. This was approx. 5:30 pm on Sunday June 23rd 2024 at ******************************************. **** walked off several times, shrugged his shoulders and when asked for appropriate resolution to my concern, said " I don't know what to tell you." I asked if I could speak with the manager and he said "you'll have to wait until she is finished with the truck. I asked how long that could be, in order to manage my expectations and make an informed decision. Flippantly he shrugged and sped off in the other direction, turned hi back to me and said " I don't know!" I asked if it would be an hour, half hour - could he give me a time frame. Annoyed he responded similarly. He did not care to listen or address my concern. Based on the leader ********'s actions, it's clear she did not care either. I am shocked at the way this matter was handled. Other than *****, the cashier who attempted to help me, I can see that customer service, basic respect and polite communication is utterly lacking. I found **** to be dismissive, flippant and rude. Upper leadership needs to address the way this store is managed and the team that is within it. Furthermore, pricing needs to be reviewed. If the item is presented in store and online as $18.99 it needs to be sold for that price. **** was insulting, insinuating that I was looking at the wrong store location website & tried to get rid of me when I showed him that the discount applied to the ************* location and dismissively said I need to check the website for the rebate - all lies and falsehoods to get me to leave him alone.Review from Allan M

Be careful with some of their products that they have especially the fried chicken. I had gotten it A few weeks ago, along with some potato salad, and I cant even begin to express the vomiting that A few hours after eating it. Vomited for two days in a row I brought the chicken back and the potato salad with my receipt. Spoke to the Store clerk. I was told I would get a refund back on my credit card. It never happened. They made me go through all these steps. They took my receipt. They took the chicken and the potato salad stated that I would receive my money back onto my credit card within 7 to 10 business days and never happened. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company and even to this day now they are still giving my credit card company a hard time it was only for $11 but still the whole tragedy of vomiting for two whole days, I shouldve asked for $10,000 and gone to an attorney. Be weary of their products and always always check the expiration date a lot of there refrigerators in the freezers leak and the food is not always frozen especially if youre purchasing something thats meat and it has to be cooked fully , very careful. Please be very careful with their fried chicken. I dont know what was in it, but I was so so sick and they dont even care.Review from weiting l

I am writing to complain about an unpleasant experience I had at your ************************************************************************** MAY 28,between 6;30 pm and 7;10 pm. While using the self -checkout, I scanned two boxes of milk,but the machine only registered one. When I asked for assistance, the employee who helped me was unfriendly and accused me of not scanning both items correctly .Despite my explanation ,she insisted that I WAS wrong and suggested I was trying to steal, which was incredibly upsetting. Her behavior was unprofessional ,mean.This incident has left me with a very negative impression of the store.Review from Theodore K

On April 4,2024, I verbally complained to Stop & Shop, *******************************, **, assistant mgr. ********. (denied having first name or business card, nor knowledge of the stores mgr., not on duty, nor contact information for said individuals beyond his authority).My complaint involved a store wide disabled digital checkout system including the hand scanner and the register self checkout. While attempting to grocery checkout, I encountered repeated stop, request a store associate, which occurred repeatedly over approximately 45 minutes involving store associate intervention on each and every occasion. My complaint involved lost time, shopper inconvenience, and risk of health secondary to refrigerated items now approaching room temperature. **********************, witnessed by 2-3 other store employees including waiting disgruntled customers, explained, was aware of the deficiencies, but was unable and incapable of resolving said issues. On successive occasions since, I believe I have been the target of discrimination violations including checkout cart checks, sudden mid shopping disabled digital hand scanners, and random cart auditson every shopping occasion including 5/11/24. During these audits, without evidence I have accused of being a thief who has stolen items and was being searched witnessed by other shoppers and employees. After weeks of humiliating audits, employee accusations, and deformation, yesterday, during my fourth consecutive audit, I requested manager assist, ********************** responding. I disclosed the above events. Again, ********* responded he was helpless in stopping the deformation and the continued harassment. After asking how to resolve and stop these events, ********************** said, You can do whatever you want!. Risking food contamination and continued violation, I asked if I could leave without purchase (over $500 spoiled items), and at approximately 4 pm, I left, without food, angry and humiliated.Review from Victoria M

I placed an order on the stop and shop app on April 10th. The order came out to $99.15. During checkout, I swapped the name on my account from mine to my boyfriend's. I received the email saying I paid for the items along with an order cut off if I needed to edit my order. Fast forward, we never received the groceries but the money has been taken out of my account. I called them and they said they do not do that, but I see otherwise. Weirdly enough, the past orders on my app aren't even showing after receiving access back into the account. I would really appreciate a refund or a way for this order to still be processed. NY Incident, my family wife is black I'm white and our son is biracial. We were at check out at approximately, this evening. While being rug up and our son in his stroller, as the cashier let an item hit my son on his leg the store manager said for me to calm down as the cashier and I argued as he didn't do that to my son it's the belt, regardless he has the control of the belt and proceeded to get loud about it to me and said I don't give a f*** The situation doesn't give a f*** who I work for regardless then we were denied services. as everyone in the store so you know what you don't deserve anything so that's the beginning of it the rest of the complaint is .They got in our way and I didnt give a s*** Why he in our way as a Store Manager Making a Situation Worse. I have used Stop and Shop for many years and I have never had any problems until today. I noticed lately that there aren't anymore Stop and Shop delivery trucks in my area. When I put through my order it appeared to be the same, nothing different. I choose my food, time and day and placed the order to be delivered today between 2 and 3 pm. After I placed the order I saw that it said an affiliate of Stop and Shop would be delivering my order. I soon found out they had started using Instacart.This afternoon I received that standard email stating my order was on its way. About 30 minutes later I received a text from my "delivery person", *******, that he couldn't find parking. There is a delivery space in front of my co-op building and I told him to park their briefly. I was waiting and waiting. Eventually someone rang my intercom. I looked at the camera and asked the woman who she was. She spoke absolutely no english and was waving around a clipboard with a piece of paper on it. Again I asked who she was and she just kept speaking in Spanish. I do not speak Spanish. She then proceeded to leave. About 20 minutes later she came back. My husband received a phone call from our super saying there was a woman here with bags from Stop and Shop but she did not speak English but our name and apt. were on her invoice. He came down and she left all 11 bags and left. Obviously our "delivery man" did not deliver our order. I called a consumer rep who stated that the delivery people do not bring the bags to anyone's door and leave them in the lobby once they get in touch with the customer. That was not stated nor stipulated on their on line ordering app. ******* wanted to know why I didn't attempt to communicate with her. I said I DO NOT SPEAK SPANISH, she DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. ******* also said that the supervisors do not take phone calls and would possibly get in touch with me in 48 hours. Don't know what was nastier?!?!? The restroom overflowing with trash and p*** or the managers mouth as he was harassing a homeless woman doing nothing wrong but being homeless and choosing to shop there. He was completely disrespectful. So something needs to change the manager's mouth was just as gross as the restroom toilet.Review from Corlis M.

The ************* Jamaica Plain location is a disgrace! The store is poorly ran, never stocked, charges more than the other locations outside of the inner city, understaffed and what is truly sad about the situation is that a lot of people depend on that store for their basic grocery needs. How can a store in good faith sell products that is spoiled, bruised and over priced? The management is never available and to answer questions in the store and why on the eve of a snowstorm, there is only one cashier ringing up groceries awhile the other available cashier is at self checkout helping customers? Is *********** hoping that the store fails? Do better ***********!!!
