I own AR **************************** On 10/10/23, my business received an invoice #******RR for $75.00 for an ad that I did not place on 1/2023 ad size 1/8 page. If an ad was placed in January 2023, why am I receiving an invoice in October 2023? My daughter, ***********************, who does my office work, called the Rehoboth Seekonk Reporter and they stated that *********************** had placed the ad; *** explained the situation and that they would write it off, but they seemed ambivalent about it. My wife has been deceased since 9/10/2016; SEVEN YEARS! My daughter followed up with an email to confirm the conversation, including the obituary, and that they would not bill us for the $75. However, today, 11/14/2023, we received ANOTHER bill. This time, they put in a previous balance of $75 and charged us for the same 1/2023 ad $75 bringing the total to $150. Previous balance for WHAT? These charges are bogus. We didn't place an ad with them. My deceased wife didn't place the ad nor my daughter nor myself. The only one running the office is my daughter and myself. I'm a small company. I don't owe them money. I want the bill eliminated and an apology.

      Hello,

I am writing regarding the recent complaint against our business in effort to have this complaint discharged. ************* has not been a customer of ours since 2009. When the daughter initially called, I looked into the invoice of concern and didnt see any current ad placed but did see a $75 balance on the account. I told her it was probably an old past due but not to worry about it.  Then this month, against my knowledge, it happened again. There was some sort of glitch in my system, and it wasnt an obvious one, so another invoice went out to them. I am going to take their company out of my system entirely, so it doesnt happen again. I never had any intention of trying to collect this money from them, nor mean to send an invoice, nor do they owe us any moneyit was an honest mistake. We are a small company, a free local community newspaper appreciated and read by many, supported by the businesses that advertise. Please let me know how we can fix this or what I need to do.

      Thank you,

      ********
