Worked with Melissa beginning in January 2023 regarding a divorce mediation. We paid for a 2 hour call to go over all the points that would be outlined in the divorce documents (pretty basic/straightforward). Waited more than the time she said it would take to draft documents and had to follow up several times with emails and phone calls that went unanswered. This dragged out for 6 months. We had the document drafted and asked for a minor change before filing - to which we got no response. We continued to email and call her (leaving voicemails), but we never heard from her again. She left out completely hanging after dragging this out for months and now we are starting at square one. She never responded to us after this and we had never even gotten a phone call response the entire time we worked with her (other than the initial call).

novermber 14 paperwork for divorce was supposed to be filed with the court. To date the court has not received the paperwork. Emailed mediator December 9, with no reply. Have been emailing and trying to call with no success. Requested a reversal/dispute with ***** for money paid for filing. This person is posting on social media on a daily basis but not responding to emails or phone calls. I paid $507.50 which $360 was for the filing fees.

      Business response

Hello, I am sending a response to a complaint against my business by a customer via text because I could not find a link to do it online. It is complaint #********. In response, I have sent written documents to that client which verifies that the documents were indeed filed with the Court and the Court took an extended period to process the documents. There is no validity to their claim that the documents weren't filed with the court. Additionally, their emails were going to an account I never use and once I heard her phone message which alerted me to her claim that the documents weren't filed with the Court I responded to her and to her husband. Sincerely, Melissa Whish

The payment made was a filing fee to process paperwork with the court and secure a court date. The paperwork was returned and the service was not fully executed. The email address presumably not in use, can be seen in current email chains. After the paperwork was returned incomplete, no new information has been provided in resolving the issue and completing the services paid for. The purpose for the complaint is to resolve this matter on a timely manner.

Businesses and Customers should be civil, courteous and polite in their responses to complaints. It is important to remain professional and productive when participating in the BBB complaint process.
