March 10th, 2024 between 2 pm-3 pm.***************** used Bill's Auto Clinic towing service to remove my car ******* Forester, Silver metallic). AWD vehicles must be towed by flatbed or dolly on the wheels to prevent drivetrain damage. After towing and picking up my car, I thoroughly watched my car's dash cam videos of how they towed my car. The Dashcam videos clearly showed that Bill's Auto Clinic didn't use a dolly on my car's rear wheels to get them off the ground, which is not a professional performance in their job. While my car's front wheels were jacked up, the rear wheels were on the ground and rotating. I was concerned about my car's drivetrain and brought my car to ************* Danvers to check whether my car's drivetrain wasn't damaged. I had to pay a labor charge and service fee of ******. On March 13th, 2024, I filed an insurance claim just in case of an unforeseen drivetrain breakdown in the future due to this butter-fly-causing incident. My insurance adjuster called them and asked them whether they used a dolly for the rear wheels. They said, "Yes, we did." However, the dash cam videos clearly show that they didn't use a dolly to perform professional work and prevent my car from having drivetrain damage. My insurance adjuster also didn't think they used a dolly. It is very frustrating for me to prove my car is okay and pay ridiculous money because of their incompetent job. Wasting my time because of their poor job is also frustrating.Business response

Hi this is ***********.******* from Bill's Auto Clinic responding to complaint # ******** . We towed this vehicle for the *********************** for street sweeping. Police towing is regulated by the state of *************. The tow fee is $132 plus $20 city administration fee $35 storage and 2.77 fuel surcharge. Storage starts as soon as the vehicle is on our property. Storage is $35 per 24hr period . Doesn't matter if the car is in storage for 5min or 23hr 55min its still $35 as regulated per state of *************. If they would like to complain about being towed they would have to complain to the city of *****. They post the signs and ticket the vehicles we just tow them. Once the vehicle has been towed we need to be paid because we already did the service that we are contracted with the city of ***** to provide.Customer response

Hi, this is Sinu.
I appreciate Bill's Auto Clinic reaching out to me, but they seem to be discussing a situation that didn't involve me. My car wasn't towed because of violating a cleaning zone; it was parked in a garage. My concern isn't about towing zones and rules in the City of *****. I'm addressing their mishandling of my car during towing and the expense I incurred at the car dealership service to check my car's drivetrain because of their incompetence.
Despite my email to ******************* on Mar 12, 2024, at 9:49 PM, along with dashcam videos, informing them that they didn't use a dolly and that I had to check my car because of their actions, when my insurance adjuster called them the next day and asked if they had used a dolly, they falsely claimed they had. However, the dashcam clearly shows that they did not use a dolly to tow an AWD vehicle.
This situation is extremely frustrating because their incompetent towing, without following the towing manual, compelled me to check my car's drivetrain and may have lasting consequences. Once again, I wouldn't have had to pay a ridiculous amount at the car dealership service if they had towed my AWD vehicle according to professional guidelines, using a dolly. I am not discussing towing zone rules but rather their mishandling of the job. I expect them to cover the dealership fee that I shouldn't have had to pay. If they want the dashcam videos to see, I will be willing to send them again.

On 03-18-2024 Bills auto towed my car because there was street sweeping on my street. When I arrived to pick my car up my father asked if there was anything they could do. The man at the register claimed if I lived on the street he could help me. Once I told him that I did live on the street they towed the car from. He switched and claimed there was nothing he could do for me. They charged be for a full day we had to pay $190. When my car was only there for a few hours. AND they had a sign on the wall claiming they only charge $120. There are multiple bad reviews on ****** claiming these people are reckless, unprofessional, and they are scammers. They have literally ruined other peoples property and almost hit children (pedestrians) leaving school. How is this place still open? They are clearly not only dishonest but also a danger to the community. What kind of a world do we live in where this is acceptable behavior?Business response

Car was towed by the city of Salem on 2/22/23 for unpaid parking tickets (it was parked legally in a public garage that I pay for). Nobody contacted me from the towing company to inform me that they had taken my car. They let it sit on their lot for 9 days, I only found out they had my car by walking down to their lot and physically checking myself because nobody was answering their phone. They charged me $400+ to get my car back, both rims on the left hand side of the car are damaged, and when I called to ask for information about the damages to my car I got called a liar and hung up on by the manager. I'm still working with ***** PD to try and find out if an officer was present for the tow and if they took pictures of my car before towing it that would show the rims undamaged prior to towing before pursuing legal action.Customer response
