My friend sent me a link to a car he liked so I clicked on it and checked it out. I literally only clicked the link and closed it in less than a minute...I didn't open details or click anything further. Within seconds I get a text from CarFive wanting to chat about a vehicle. I opt out immediately and then I receive a phone call. I answer it and the person starts asking me about interest in a car. I asked how they got my # and they said I filled out a form and that they also had my email. I did absolutely NONE of this. I have a brand new car and not in the market. I simple clicked one link sent by someone else. When I notified my friend about what happened they said they were shocked but that they had been getting 4-5 calls a day about the car as well. He has been ignoring them but I'm very uncomfortable with how they got my name, #, and email just from going to their site. This is an invasion of privacy and I should not have to worry about harassment because I went to a website. I will be filing a police report.

      Dear ********,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused.

Upon reviewing the situation, we can confirm that on Saturday, September 21st, 2024, a submission was made on our website using your phone number and email address to "Unlock Calculator" for a 2014 ****** Crosstrek. This automatically triggered a text and email request for permission to communicate, which may have caused the outreach you experienced (screenshots attached).
If you did not personally submit this information, its possible that someone else did so on your behalf, either unintentionally or deliberately, and we understand how unsettling this can be. We take privacy and security very seriously and want to assure you that the moment you requested the communication to stop, we immediately honored your request on our end. However, there may be a slight delay of 2-5 business days for marketing emails to fully stop due to processing time.

We completely understand your concerns, and we encourage you to report this matter to the relevant authorities if you believe your information was used without your consent. In the meantime, if there's anything further we can do to assist you or provide information to help with a police report, please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly at **********************************************************.
Once again, I apologize for any distress this has caused, and we are here to help in any way we can.

      Kind regards,

      Italo

Down payment on a vehicle $1000.Dealership lied to me stating the bank canceled my auto loan, and that I was required to buy a $5800 extended warranty, GAP insurance and towing fees.Dealership also stated that delivery of vehicle was included in price, car dealership is 4 hours from my home, I dont have transportation to get up there and work two jobs. They denied that Dealership made multiple false statements regarding the lender, including that I would never get another car loan if I didnt close the deal, and the down payment amounts kept increasing throughout process First deal the dealership canceled and stated the bank required $3000 additional down payment. Which was false. If I didnt close deal, I would loose deposit, which is the only reason I kept doing business with them. They required a $500 deposit to hold car for 72 hours, took another $500 and increased the agreed down payment after adding $6000 warranty and GAP, and multiple fees that were never disclosed. All of which they stated had to be financed, costing me $30000 more than the cost of vehicle loan. This whole process has caused much stress and has affected my health, I have been hospitalized and requiring surgery. They will not return down payment. They are predatory and discriminatory in their practices

Customer put a non-refundable deposit on a vehicle. Customer acknowledged in writing and verbally that the deposit was non-refundable. At the end, we still refunded the deposit. This matter has been resolved.
