I began working with The Pipe Surgeon on April 18th, 2022. I redirected to them through a failed ****** Call button that i thought was directing me to my regular plumber. By the time that I, or Pipe Surgeon, recognized that there was a disconnect, I just needed a plumber to resolve my issue, which had sewage backing up into the house, so I had to stick with him.Almost immediately upon engaging with ***, the owner, I began to see examples of false promises, delays, and failures to show up, tactics that I retroactively read through Yelp reviews. By count across my two+ months of engagement, *** missed ~5 complete days that he said he would "definitely" be at my house (on total, he was at my house for ~6-8 hours of work). On days that he did arrive, it was almost always hours late, and lasted for ***** minutes before disappearing to other jobs. While doing work, *** would tell me that he is going to do x, y, and z, working on pipe cutting, buying supplies, etc., but the end result showed nothing that wouldn't be standard in any plumbers existing inventory (e.g. simple PVC pipe). Upon "completion" of the job, I continued to see leaks coming through the system when I ran laundry or flushed toilets. Then, on Wednesday, June 22nd, we began seeing water and sewage coming up through the work that *** did within our basement floor. It was clear that something had given out. Upon telling him, and sending pictures, he stopped by on Saturday, June 25th for ~30 mins, not fixing the problem, but instead told my he thinks it's a "new problem" and that he'd be back on Monday. Monday and Tuesday were filled with false promises and no show, but I ultimately needed to move on so got a new plumber. The new plumber dug up ***** work and found out that the pipe *** put in was detached and worse.I have alerted ***, and suggested that he refund $2k of the total $6k due to his work being undone. I think that's polite considering what I've been through. *** has stopped responding.

**** was told numerous times that the water comming up was nothing to do with the work i have done. I cameraed, hydrojetted with the city, i then cut out the house trap and installed a sump pump with a pvc check valve. The city sewer inspector was there and seen everything was flowing as it should be and **** was also there. **** stated himself the pipe outside is now broken, inside is my work, NOT OUTSIDE

The problem on June 22nd, and subsequently something that was not investigated by *** on June 25th was most certainly the work that The Pipe Surgeon did.  I have attached pictures of the pipe, with detached work from ***, as seen from the new plumber upon digging into the rocks in order to help resolve why water/waste was coming up through the surface.  We also have video of the water/waste coming up through the rocks that were set in our basement.  I have attached a photo of the water that was coming up, although the video is too large to attach.  Although the root cause of the main issue may be outside, the work done to secure the pipe in our basement definitely gave way.  This was the cause of water/waste coming up through the rocks that *** laid.

We are looking for a partial refund for work not completed.

December 3, 2021 To Whom It May ******* My name is *****************************. I am an eighty-three year old and recently retired school teacher. On June 27 I needed a plumber to unclop my kitchen sinks. I called the Pipe Surgeon - ****** **. He quickly took the call and promptly arrived Monday Morning at rhe schedualed time. He unclogged my sinks and then went into my cellar He returned saying my pipes were leaking and needed service. He required $2000 dollars for stock which I gave him personal check. He schedualed a time and then it began his excuses - son burn on leg - infected - rain - helper no show - and so on - excuses with no show and feeble apologies. After 4 (four) months my son called - He said he will mail a check and a work receipt After three weeks - no check or receipt. On Oct. 12 I went to the police. Officer ****** called and made an appointment for the next day. I was deluged with his calls. He left a work receipt (which I cannot read) and a $500 refund. I was lied to and cheated. Buyer Beware. Please note that I sought the advice of other plumbers and the conclusion was to unclog the sinks would be between ******* dollars. He refunded $500 out of the $2000 - I feel I am owed at least a $1000 refund - because that's all that was needed to be done

To whom this may concern, I snaked a main line, a kitchen line, and replaced clamps on your main stack that were leaking. I did in fact speak to the son and 500 dollars was agreed upon for a refund. Maybe if questioning other drain cleaners they quoted you so low because you failed to mention all the work that was completed.

My husband and I frantically looked for a plumber to fix our sink that had suddenly stopped working over the weekend. We found *** on line. He came over on Sunday morning at 7:30 AM. Did "something" under the sink that took literally three minutes. He then said that we needed a new sink, and that the one we have is "cheap". I foolishly paid him the $500.00 dollars on November 28, 2021 for a new sink. *** asked my husband to write a review, which he did. *** also stated that others have written terrible reviews because they were former employees, which is a lie. He doesn't work with employees. My husband was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma which my husband ******* shared w/***. ******* is back and forth to the hospital, and is often times exhausted. he has even scheduled his hospital visits around ***** lies, only to be very disappointed; as *** gives a time that he is going to arrive, and never shows up. He originally promised to be back on ***** or *****. I am furious, embarrassed, and I want my money back. I also really want *** to be held accountable for his viciousness, and deceitfulness. The BBB's assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you, ******

The Pipe Surgeon has never completed the work I approached him about. He has repeatedly failed to arrive at appointments he made with the express intent of completing the projects. He has often lied about his failure to keep appointments saying his truck broke down, his child was hospitalized and he had an infected leg. These excuses are mentioned by others who have dealt with him. He had others start and complete an expensive project that he "discovered" needing immediate attention. He is the most unprofessional businessman I have ever dealt with.

I had a musty smell/high humidity issue in my basement. On July 17, (617) 797-2225, THE PIPE SURGEON, Jay, called, came out a few days later to assess the problem: an leaking inside cast iron pipe leading to the sewer. He said his camera inspection showed roots and a collapse in the pipe and the cost to repair and line the pipe was $5,000. He replaced the inside leaking pipe and performed "an acid wash" to clean the roots in the pipe. I gave him a deposit of $2,000. He did not finish the job and missed more than 15 appointments. I have over 92 texts from him either saying he was on his way or had to reschedule. Some excuses were he couldn't find a part, truck broke down, equipment died or his kid was in the hospital. He often apologized admitting it was his fault, but never finished. I hired another company to finish the job. There still were roots; no collapse. I told Jay I would pay for parts & labor for the inside pipe but wanted a $1,500 refund. No response as of 10/5/21.

Work was done there. Equipment was faulty and had issues so there was delays. Agreement has been made

This matter is not resolved.  On October 8, 2021, Jared Derrico came to my home and promised to refund me $1,500 for the work he did not perform.  We both signed an agreement and he said he was going to the bank to get a bank check and would return in 15 minutes.  He never returned.  I texted him that he could mail the check and gave him my address, but asked that he send me a copy of the check or a receipt as proof.  No check or copy of the check has arrived as of October 25, 2021.  The agreement we made is only valid when I receive the $1,500 check.  If this check was lost in the mail, it is his responsibility to get another one, but I suspect this check does not exist. Tell him to prove to the Better Business Bureau that he sent payment to me.Regards, ***** *******
