    I am an acupuncturist with a patient enrolled with the Allways health partners. A claim (date of service 1/12/2022) has been denied in I think June 2022, with the explanation that acupuncture was no longer a covered service for her, although she had been told it was. I called Allways around that same time and given a reference #CT007021341) as they needed to check further as to the reason, and for me to call back in 2-3 weeks for an answer. Since that time Ive called (using phone number ************) approximately every month, and each time Ive been told that its been passed on to the supervisor and to check back in in 2-3 weeks. The last time I called on Dec 13, 2022 they said again that it was being passed on to the supervisor, but still no response was given to me. We have 360 days for a claim to be submitted, and at this point, if its not resolved in Jan 2023, itll be void. Im pretty frustrated!

    Stay away from Allways if you have a choice. I'd give negative stars if I could. One problem after another to be covered for medication and medical devices as prescribed by my Dr.. **** bully and block expecting you to give up and use the cheaper less effective CVS device or medication that they want you to use not because it is effective in managing your medical issue, but "we prefer that you use the option that is cheapest for us". That is a direct quoter from Allways and CareMark. All their coverage decisions are based on how much money they can keep in their own pockets. **** will refer you to one of their "clinical pharmacists" who are directed to deny your Drs RX and call the Dr's ****** and tell them to send an RX for their cheap ineffective CVS alternative. As another reviewer stated they like to play Dr.. I have a high level plan and they repeatedly tell me that I must have a high deductible plan (which I do not) when I call to find out what the problem is. The cost of my insurance coverage has more than doubled in the past 3 years and the level of benefits has gone down. I currently pay just short of $1200/month for coverage that covers nothing unless my ********** gets involved and puts up a fight. My OOP expenses under Allways have also risen while the quality of customer care and medical coverage has dramatically fallen. **** waste my **** and my Dr's **** saying an RX needs "pre-authorization" then saying it does not. All the while holding up my RX being filled. This last sums it all up: **** have assured me that while they will not cover the preventative meds and devices I have been prescribed that a heart attack, kidney dialysis, and amputations are covered by my plan. Again RUN do not walk away from Allways.
