I apparently signed a 2 year contract with Gold's Gym in 2019. I wanted a month-to-month contract because I wanted to try it out first. I had a contract with Gold's Gym years ago before it turned into Crunch Fitness which I am current member. I was advised that the cost was $57 processing fee and $57 per month thereafter. I was told by another member that they were on a monthly contract. I went ahead an signed up for membership with the assurance that if I don't like it, I could cancel and pay a cancellation fee and that the 2 year fee was the best option to do so. I should've known this was a lie. I provided my debit card information and was told I was all set. He never offered me a copy of the contract nor did I receive one at that time. I did not receive a contract for my review within the 3 day period provide by law for cancellation. I only went one time. Due to the stress of my job at the time, I had to start looking for another job and with everything going on, I forgot about the membership. I didn't know I had a **** until July 1 2022 when I went to try to join. I was told I had a **** for over $1200. I called **** BILLING she tells me they tried calling in 2019 and was told I was busy and then no answer after that. She said 2020 is when I was sent to collections. I don't believe that. That **** is not on my credit report at all. i just purchased a new car last year - not on my credit. When I called ****** AND ASSOCIATES - ******************* a.k.a The *****, tells me it's on my credit. Not true. I asked for a copy of the contract and she no it has to be requested in writing that her company doesn't accept verbal requests. Yet that's all that they want to talk about is the contract. I requested for a review of my badge to confirm I only went there one time. She said that it was not her job. I asked her to hold on a sec, she said it's not her job to wait. Look, contract or not, no one should be charged for a service not used. That's wrong.

Notified Golds Gym in September 2019 I would like to cancel my membership. Received confirmation did this in person at Golds Gym *********************. My ex wifes credit was the account on file she also cancelled. I moved we divorced in Sept 2020. I moved to NC. On June 10 ******************************** and said I owed Golds Gym $490. I said that was cancelled way prior to Covid closure back in 2019. They said it was going to hit my credit report if I did not pay $490. I have a clearance so I had to pay it. I called Golds the person said its True Fitness I said ok well I never had a membership at True Fitness and I cancelled my Golds membership in 2019. I asked his name refused told me a lot of people had the same problem call *** financial gave me the number. *** said I never cancelled and I asked why they never notified me my account was delinquent and they said they use robo calling and it doesnt leave a message and they arent required to email or leave a message that your account is delinquent if you dont answer the robo call you go to collections. I called the gym again asked for manager and to make sure the account is closed and Im deleted from a gyms system True Fitness who has no legal right to my personal information, same guy would not give name said call Rob on Monday after 2 the manager. I asked for Robs last name he said he didnt know his managers last name. He did say when they transferred Golds gym members info into True Fitness a lot of closed accounts must have been reopened because a lot of people like me were calling. I said if my account was reopened it wasnt a computer glitch its called fraud and who knows how long you billed my ex before AMex card was closed its fraud.

I had a Gold's Gym membership prior to covid-19 outbreak in 2020. In March 2020 they closed gyms and suspended memberships. They reopened May 18, 2020. At the time, I did not feel safe continuing to use this public gym. The very next day, on the 19th, I went in person to the downtown ****** location and canceled my membership. This week in January 2022, I received a collections letter for membership dues from 5/20/2020 through 11/25/2020. After researching this online, it seems common practice for Gold's Gym to continue charging dues after people have cancelled their membership. Check out the BBB reviews, Reddit and ****** reviews. There are numerous counts of this fraudulent activity. Despicable business practice.

I was a member of the Arlington Health and Fitness Club that closed down during the Covid epidemic. I had my membership frozen in April 2020. I started receiving a charge of ***** from TrueFitness Arlington beginning Aug-2020. I confronted the owners in Sep-2021 when I noticed the recurring charge on my credit card.I went to the gym and asked for a refund as well as cancellation of my membership at a gym that I never applied to, i never gave consent to charge my credit card and asked them for a refund. The owners were very demeaning and declined to do so They said they notified me through email, which i was not expecting and may have been filtered out by my spam filters. However, I was made a member and charged an amount without ever obtaining any written or electronic consent. This is clear scam and I should be given a refund for the amount that I have been swindled out of.

Then I emailed to the gym manager ***** and printed out my email and left it with front desk rude rep on 8/31.***** have never responded to my request for refund or to terminate any further charges. They owe me back at least $240.
