On Saturday, 12/17/22 my 3 friends and I bought tickets for the Holiday **************** Nights trolley. It was advertised as a 90 minute tour of Bostons holiday lights and sights with entertaining and festive tour guides. It was anything but that and halfway through, when the trolley stopped at Boston Common and everyone got out to explore, we were told by one of the tour guides that we were not allowed back on because we had drinks. He left 4 women stranded in Boston Common in the cold and we had to find our way back to the beginning of the tour to get our ride home. When we first boarded the trolley with covered cups, nobody said anything to us. At one point, one of the tour guides came over and rudely took my 2 friends cups from them. When we got off at Boston Common, my friend and I threw away our cups so none of us had drinks when we were ready to board back onto the trolley. I sent a message via the web site for a refund and the General Manager (***************************), responded with false accusations and said that he would not be refunding our tickets. There are many problems here.tour guides were rude and sarcastic and not nice, they left us stranded in the cold, this event was not advertised properly. The web site claims 100% satisfaction guaranteed which is false because I was told that our tickets were not going to be refunded. Also, the trolley was crammed, and you could not see out any of the windows. For all of these reasons, I would like to be refunded for the tickets and hoping for some help. I did send 2 e-mails to reply back to ***** about this but he never responded back.Unfortunately, I didnt read the bad reviews before buying the tickets. Other people had some of the same complaints. I can provide many disappointed complaints if necessary.

This company should loose all licensing. ****** was more than rude and aggressive instead of helpful when trying to take the tour offered by the company. The company was clearly overbooked and could not accommodate the number of passengers who purchased tickets for the daily ride tour. Other drivers were unhelpful and the central office hung up when called and asked about trollies with room to safely sit. In addition, ****** touted he had a 102 degree fever. So not only was the company terrible, the driver rude and unhelpful, but they promoted a public health hazard for tourists on the bus. I hope the Princess ****** passengers and many others on the tour route all dont require quarantine after this unnecessary exposure. I wouldve left zero stars if I couldve!

Old Town Trolley Tours of Boston Response

    10/30/2023

Our Asst. ** has researched this complaint by speaking with the team member referenced. We take all feedback from our guests seriously, and investigate thoroughly when warranted, so this took some time.

Our team member remembers the interaction with the guests and was surprised by it, as he had carried those specific guests earlier on in the day, and believed them to have been enjoying themselves. He stated that on the second time of interacting with the guests, they were confrontational, and one of them was videotaping him on their phone as soon as he pulled into the stop.

Once secured in the stop, our team member checked how many seats he had available, and allowed the guests to board the trolley. As they were boarding, the guest who was videotaping continued to aggressively voice his frustration at our team member. At that point, our team member advised them that if they think the company provided poor service, they are able to contact the company and request a refund.

Old Town Trolley does have a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee in which, if a guest feels as if their satisfaction has not been achieved, Old Town Trolley will do everything in their power to remedy that dissatisfaction, or issue a refund.

Our team member stated that he never said anything about a 102-degree fever. Old Town Trolley has always had a progressive stance on not coming to work if not feeling well, and also follows all CDC recommendations as far as COVID-19.

As far as the complaint regarding the central office hanging up, our local administrative staff does not recall any interactions of that nature. We have also reached out to our national call center, and await their response pending their own investigation into a potential disconnection.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any additional questions.
