I received and paid a bill from Dr. ***************************** for an appointment that I never had and never scheduled. The only time I visited south shore hospital was December 14, 2023 to see **************. I ended up receiving a bill in the mail for an appointment on November 27, 2023 for ****************** though I had never been to the hospital prior to December. I would like a refund of the money I paid. I have never met ****************** nor did I ever receive any type of care from her. I am clearly being billed unfairly and the hospital refuses to do anything about it. I want to stress that I never had this appointment, no care was given, and I never visited the hospital prior to December.

I have been having issues with a relatively simple matter. I am on disability insurance as part of what was originally a medical leave my Doctor placed me on. I was referred to a specialist by my Doctor and subsequently the specialist is unwilling to see me because of the required disability paperwork that very unfortunately would come with it. I have no issues with that and certainly understand that the paperwork is annoying. However, I am right now in limbo and there is no plan in place for me to receive what my Doctor referred me to. I tried to resolve this with their advocacy group, but all they did is say everything is separate groups and to reach out to them.I have to pay $184 for another appointment with my primary Doctor to determine a new referral for the same issue. That seems unnecessary and could potentially be handled via call or message. At this point I am going in circles and it seems this "health system" is interconnected when its convenient to them and completely separated departments when it is convenient. All I am looking for at this point is a single person/point of contact to help work through this relatively simple matter rather then sending me on wild goose chases. This does not necessary have to be published, just interested in a single point of contact like the advocacy group is advertised as being.

7/3/22 7 hour wait in the emergency room before admittance. After admittance was told it would be another 2-3 hours for the tests to be done. I decided to leave because I was unable to wait any longer. Also had not eaten anything in over 10 hours. Was charged $1101.00 dollars.

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.

I reached out to them yesterday 2/27/23 once I received my itemized bill in the mail. After reviewing my bill I researched the costs of the tests that were taken and they were much higher than they should have been. For example one test that was taken they charged me $118 and I researched it costing between $30-$40. The bill noted that I was admitted at a Level 3 ** visit which I researched was for heart attack concerns. I was not there with any heart issues or complaints about chest pain and I waited 7 hours in the waiting room before being admitted. 7 hours seems like a long time to wait for somebody coming in complaining of a heart attack.

On 07/27/2022 I had an MRI at south shore hospital, specifically at the ********************* **************** facility. I was referred by the VA and as such they not only pay all bills they are the point of contact if my provider has any questions about *********. This agreement has been in place long before I used my referral, yet south shore hospital continues to send me invoices and relies on me to provide them with information about ********* and billing. I have received multiple invoices for my MRI on 07/27. In October, I called the billing office and let them know that I am aware that my VA ********* paid for my MRI visit. They did not send me an invoice in November but I just received another one on 12/03. I am resorting to a BBB complaint in the hopes that the billing office will contact the VA if they have questions about ********* payment moving forward as well as to ensure that this does not go on my credit report. I have also attached the proof I have verifying that my bill has been covered by my *********. I also would like to stop receiving invoices, please train your staff to understand how to deal with VA ********* care referrals and stop burdening veterans. If I continue to receive invoices I will be forced to consider the possibility that this hospital is trying to get duplicate payments for services.

I had my OB GYM annual appointment at the ************* of South Shore ************** on 10/20/21. After the visit, I received a **** of $674.92 on 11/07/2021 for lab tests. This **** was way beyond a cost of a routine appointment. Last year, I also had my OB annual check done with the same doctor and hospital, the **** was $60.15. Moreover, I was not aware of the test price and test type until I received the ****. During the visit, I have never signed any document to authorize any cost that might beyond a routine appointment the insurance company would cover. If I would have known the type of test the doctor sent, I would have checked with my insurance company before having the test done. Without knowing the test cost before the tests were being done is so unfair to the patient. Therefore, I dont think I should be responsible for this ****. After receiving the ****, I tried to resolve this problem with the hospital by calling the South Shore Health *************** at ************* located in the ****. First they opened an investigation on the claim and informed me that the cause of the **** is the tests that the doctor ordered were beyond an routine exam coverage which i was never being informed or approved. Then the office people told me to write a complain letter to their supervisor named **** if i don't satisfy with the investigation and once **** got the letter, she will provide me an update on the claim. Besides mail in a complaint letter to ****, there is nothing else they could help on this claim. Therefore, a letter to **** was sent on 12/10/2021. As of today, there is no response from ****. I also emailed the ************************* at ***************************************************************************** about this claim, no response from them as well. The *************** told me this **** will be sent to the collection office on 01/20/2022, so i am hoping this claim could be resolved before then. In this complain, I am sincerely asking South Shore Health to waive this ****.
