Down payment of 50% to schedule bathroom remodel not used to order material - therefore start date could not be met because product/materials never ordered - no start date can be established. Explanation that material was held ** in customs was totally discredited by supplier Genrose - product was never ordered. Cannot start project without material. Money was used for other purposes.

The job was started August 2, 2021 and was suppose to take approximately 10 days, but took several months and all issues are not resolved. The cost was around $15,000. During the process several things were done wrong and had to be fixed. The carpenter made several mistakes that he would not mention, but when noticed was sent back to correct the issues, but things were fixed by using epoxy (he chipped the floor) and wood filler where gaps were left in baseboards, and a crack in wood on vanity. Also, when he had to repair back splash on the sink because it was wrong (one side higher than the other) he damaged the already painted wall. The bathroom door was not installed properly, which caused the door to not stay open. He was sent back again to fix this, but the fix was to bend the hinge pins, which now is flush in some areas, and gaps in others and is still not level. The heater vent cover was cemented to the wall, instead of just screwed on, so now it is not possible to remove for cleaning, and the vent slider does not open completely. The ceramic floor tiles are not level and there are a few that have corners that stick up. The owner said they would not be fixing these issues, but after a few more emails, I was told in December that they would make an effort to send a different contractor to address the existing concerns. Since that email our phone calls and emails have been unanswered. It has now been 6 months since this nightmare started and I just want the issues we have to be fixed properly so that we can put this nightmare of a remodel behind us

Consumer Response /* (3000, 6, 2022/01/26) */ ***Document Attached*** The first picture shows the floor/subfloor that was installed was not level. The second picture shows how the door did not stay open, and the third picture shows that by just bending the pins to keep the door open only caused gaps around the door when it is closed, showing the door is still not correct Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/02/07) */ As of today I have not heard anything from Affordable Baths Business Response /* (1000, 18, 2022/02/15) */ We started this project on August 2, 2021 and received the final payment on 9/22/2021 after the final walk through of the project with the customer when completed. Following the completion of the project and after final payment was made, the customer wanted us to come back again to address the same concerns that were already completed by the contractor. Every detail of this project was discussed with the contractors, the customer, and the owners of Affordable Baths Inc. Our company has returned on several occasions. On 9/8/21- carpenter returned to replace threshold trim she provided and did not like, and returned again on 9/22/21 to replace the side splash, correct the door hinge, and repair the filler next to the vanity. We addressed the customers concerns to make sure that they were happy with the results. Affordable Baths Inc. had a new splash fabricated and also attempted to have a representative go to the house (attempted on 10/13/21 & 10/20/21) to polish the inside lip of the top where it meets the sink bowl because the customer felt some roughness on the edge and felt that it would be a problem in the future. We were finally able to send the representative to polish the top for her in November. Also, upon receiving the request to return from the customer, we were limited to certain days that we could come to the house due to the customers work schedule so we worked through this with them and accommodated such request. We also sent the carpenter back on 3 separate occasions to fix the door, the floor, and the vent cover. The customer spoke with the carpenter on 9/22/21 along with the owner of Affordable Baths, Inc. and explained that she accepted the work that was done and gave the owner the final check. The carpenter also returned on December 14, 2021 to address the door again and resolved the issue. We have addressed these same concerns several times and feel that we have done diligence on returning for the same concerns. Affordable Baths Inc. also has email correspondence and pictures of the completed project which we can send along to show the willingness to return to correct any issues and also photos of the finished project. We do not see where to upload our pictures or correspondence through this portal but we are willing to provide this if neccesary. Consumer Response /* (3000, 21, 2022/02/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) When Craig came for the walk through, I pointed out the issues, which were suppose to be addressed. At no point did I say I accepted the job as complete. I also have an email from Christine stating that they would send a different contractor to address my concerns, and that was the last email that they responded to (December 15th). The only thing that Craig stated during the walk through was that the tile that was damaged and fixed with filler looked fine, and he would not replace the tile, which was the one and only thing I agreed to. The issue with the backsplash was because the 2 pieces were different heights and had a large gap where they met in the corner. When the carpenter was sent to address the door, bending the pins did not fix the door having gaps around it, it only made it worse. The heater vent has been an ongoing issue from the moment we realized that it was permanently attached to the wall and could not be removed for cleaning. I want the company to do the right thing and fix the issues. When the job was started, we were available the entire first two weeks, for a job that was suppose to take 10 days. After that, we had no choice but to work around our employment schedules. Business Response /* (4000, 23, 2022/02/16) */ We have gone over the corrections many times and we have made efforts on many occasions to rectify the issues. We have the pictures and correspondence to show that we are complete. Affordable Baths, Inc. has communicated on every level with the customer throughout this project and have gone to the home several times to address customer concerns. Consumer Response /* (3000, 26, 2022/02/16) */ ***Document Attached*** I am sending a picture of the email saying that a different contractor would be sent because we felt that that would be the best solution. Also, when we addressed our issues, it was Craig that said they would not be addressed, and was not something that we agreed to. If we were happy with the work, they wouldn't have been issues we asked to have taken care of Business Response /* (4000, 28, 2022/02/18) */ Affordable Baths has worked diligently to go back numerous times to make adjustments and address concerns for this customer. We feel that we are complete with this project and have been for some time. We have stood behind the work but at some point the job has to end. Especially when the job is finished and looks beautiful. Consumer Response /* (3000, 31, 2022/02/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) These are not new issues, they have been discussed, and I had submitted the last email from Christine that was sent in December stating that A DIFFERENT contractor would be sent to address the door frame and heater vent cover. These are two issues that need to be addressed because they will cause future problems, and I have asked numerous times for these 2 items to be fixed. The unfortunate thing is, that the owner straight up tells you to your face what he will not do, even though it should be done to the customers satisfaction. For $15000 the job should be done correctly. Again, the ast email sent stated they would be sending someone, and then they just stopped responding, which is very unprofessional. Fixing these 2 issues should not be such a problem
