On 3/24/2021, I purchased a 2014 Toyota Corolla, Vin#***************** from Fastlane Auto Sales located at 18 Berkshire Avenue, Springfield, MA 01109. (See attached purchase agreement). Since the purchase, the vehicle has had some mechanical issues that the dealership has kept putting off in repairing. On, Friday, September 17, 2021, my car was struck by another driver, which caused an open claim with my insurance company. The car was appraised, and sent to the body shop for further appraisal and repairs. I was contacted by the body shop to inform me that my vehicle was already once rendered "totalled", and that the work that was done to it was poorly done. Therefore, this vehicle shouldn't have even been sold at a dealership in the condition it was in. I refuse to continue making payments to the bank for a vehicle that was rendered "totalled", and run a life threatening risk on the road. I would like compensation for what I have invested in this purchase.

Fast lane auto saleson Berkshire Ave. Should be approached with caution when filling out loan applications. If someone comes in to inquire about a vehicle while someone else has already started the loan process, they will sell it with no regard to how it will effect the credit of the individual that already had the paperwork started. It happened to me. I started the loan process and, according to the dealer,I was approved. But when I called to get a dollar amount for the down-payment, I didn't get a reply. So naturally, I'm thinking that they were busy and that's why it was taking so long. Well,it turns out that they were selling the car to someone else. Now,I work 2 jobs and I have no transportation outside of the occasional ride,if I'm lucky, or public transportation. So my ability to get to them was limited. I told them that the problem was not the money but the time, and that I am a serious buyer. Then on my way to work, after not hearing from them since I called a week prior,I noticed the car not on the lot. I called to see what happened and was told that it was in for servicing and it wasn't sold. Then, a few hours later I get a call telling me the car was sold because I had no money on it and he assumed I was not serious when all I was waiting for was them to call me with a dollar amount for the down payment. And because the finance process went through with no sale, it negatively affected my credit. I don't think that doing something that adversely effects someone who in good faith was trying to purchase something is right or good business since all this could have been avoided with a simple callback. Instead, the seller makes a stereotypical assumption about me and negatively effects my credit in the process. There may be nothing legal I can do, but for what they did to me based on an assumption should not stand without some consequence to them. It's just bad business practice on their part.

Fast Lane Auto Sales & Service, Inc. Response

    11/29/2021

Fastlane Auto Sales & Service's application for financing policy is to evaluate what stage the customer is at in the shopping process ("just looking", "buying soon" or "ready to buy"). Mr. ******* filled out the application on 11/11/21 was given his approval on 11/12/21 which was proceeded with many follow up calls. Without having a deposit on the vehicle a "ready to buy" customer came in and closed the deal on 11/22/21, giving Mr. ******* 10 days to leave a deposit or close the deal. Fastlane Auto Sales processes many applications, after the customer is notified of their approval it's the customers responsibility to secure the vehicle with a deposit. Thereafter Mr. ******* was called and informed that the vehicle was under contract and that we had many other options, also that we have an aggressive vehicle locator service and could find another. Sorry for Mr. ******* misunderstanding of the process
