I had a flood (water damage loss) in my home on 4/23/22. Had a restoration company, American Restoration Professionals, come and clean up, set up fans, etc. They were paid direct by my insurance company. I hired them to put the in-law kitchen back together. (Everything was torn out). On June 2, 2022, I signed a contract and paid $6,400.00 to American Restoration. Second payment of $5,000.00 due when work is 75% complete. $1,438.29 due upon completion. The first appointment to start did not happen (June 9, 2022). After I complained I was told the worker misread the schedule. The work started on Monday, June 13. He worked four days that week. Was expected to be back on Monday, June 20. No show. I realized it was a new holiday so I waited another day. No show all that week. I finally contacted the owner on Thursday by text. No response. I contacted the "admin" named ******* She said "*** has no phone today". I will have **** call you (?) after he reviews your file.. Don't know ****. On Friday, June 24, I received a text from **** saying "if I have any questions to contact him (?). I called him and explained my concern about where is the worker? He told me he would have to talk to *** and get back to me. I waited and waited. I then sent him a text indicating my concerns. He texted back that he was in the middle of a loss and he would have to call me in a little bit. I waited and then texted him again. I also forwarded these text messages to the owner, ***, still no response from ***. Next **** texted me that an electrician is available for Saturday. I was confused. I said what is the electrician for? I need the mud finished and painting. He responded "Okay" ??? Next my phone rings. It's **** from American Professionals. I answer Hi ****. He says, oh, sorry, I called the wrong customer!!!!!!!! I then said you need to have the owner, ***, call me because I am ready to cancel. So, I do not know what to do. Better Business Bureau:The company contacted me and are to start work again today. They apologized for the "misunderstandings". I am allowing them to continue the work and I am hoping there are no other issues. Thank you BBB for being there for me.
