On October 3rd I used the automatic car wash at Prestige car wash in Taunton. I entered the car wash with my bumper attached to my car. While in the car wash the machine ripped off my entire back bumper. I filed a claim with the business but they have denied any wrong doing. I have filed a claim with my insurance company but I would be responsible for paying the $450 deductible. It is my opinion that Prestige car wash should pay this deductible.Customer response

We reached out to the customer following right after the incident report was filed, did our diligence to review video footage as well as take into account the age of the vehicle and normal wear and tear that occurs on vehicles year over year. We apologized for the inconvenience this has caused and explained in a previously email on October 5th, 2023, following the incident report that based on the surveillance and loss prevention findings we cannot take liability. We understand this was not the outcome the customer was hoping for however, the older vehicles become, the easier it is for parts to break or fall off like they normally would. While having a bumper come off is not an ideal situation, it is important to remember that for bumpers to become detached from vehicles in a car wash, they would have had to be broken/missing clips or had already been separated from the vehicle.

I was convinced to purchase a $20/month unlimited car wash package from prestige. Ive had 4 significant damages done to my vehicle over the last month and the company refuses to reimburse me for damage and for the $80 Ive paid in cash washes since may 2022. I was also charged for this month, august, though I did cancel it and I was told on the phone that they cannot do anything and that Ill have to email them. Ive spoken to 10 different people at the company and chose to go through my auto insurance company instead, due to the damage. There are dozens of other reviews online for their this exact same location, one woman said the car wash did $1700 of damage to her car. Another person posted that there was a 4 car piled up accident inside their car wash and they didnt reimburse any money f the 4 people whos cars were destroyed and were given the run around for several weeks before being told to go through their own insurance. This car wash needs to be inspected or shut down due to the amount of concerning damages its causing to peoples vehicles.Business response

Hi, my name is ********************'m calling from the office of Prestige Car Wash. I have a complaint number that is ******** and this was filed on 8/3/22, bye customer of the name **********************.
She is complaining of the damages to her vehicle. She reached out to you guys, but she never informed us of these damages. We don't have any paperwork on it. We don't have any dates times pictures or anything like that. I do see that she did call on August third to cancel but that's about it. I don't have any incident reports we were not even aware of damages to this particular persons vehicle. So if you need need or have any other questions the office is open Mon - Fri from 8-4
