In February, 2022 a tech from https://www.masssave.com/ recommended an Iwave from https://iwaveair.com/ to help with our daughter's allergies. This tech told us the Iwave is installed in the **** to purify air and is "easy to install yourself." In March I contacted https://www.ggmechanicalinc.com/ to install the Iwave. They were listed as a certified iwave installer for the ***** zipcode on the iwave site https://iwaveair.com/where-to-buy/. *****************************, Senior Project Manager from G&G Mechanical, came by to look at our system and talk about installing the Iwave. ****************** spent 20 minutes in the basement. He told me that G&G Mechanical would need to "cut into the ductwork" to set up the Iwave. This seemed strange as the Masssave tech said installation was easy. I deferred to ****************** as the expert. ****************** told me he would send an invoice and ask for a deposit. The Invoice was for $1464. While higher than expected, again, I understood him to be the expert and expected that cutting into the ductwork accounted for the higher price. I booked an appointment with ***** for installation. *****************************, was the tech assigned. When he finished much faster than I expected, I asked if he installed it in the ductwork. He said, "that's not what the instructions say. It says to install it at the bottom of the ****." This was in line with what I understood from the Masssave tech. I immediately knew there was a problem. I looked up "cost for Iwave installation" and found https://www.aaacalvert.com/home-air-purifiers/ which quotes the price at $799 (reduced from $899) for installation + the Iwave-R equipment (https://iwaveair.com/devices/iwave-r/). I called Iwave directly @ ************ and left a message asking, "what should I expect for a price?" but received no call back. Finally, I inquired with ****************** via email and was dismissed for my concerns.I believe ****************** is acting in bad faith. I request a refund for half of the $1464 cost.Business response

Near 4 July, I encountered an Air Conditioning (HVAC) condenser issue. I trouble shot myself prior to calling G & G Mechanical to see if could resolve the issue. I flipped the breaker and had the fuse checked at a hardware store to confirm it worked fine. I then called G & G Mechanical to trouble shoot the issue. Technician ***** started speculating & telling me the problem even before he touched anything. He too checked the breaker and told me the fuse was no good only find out it was fine. He then hooked up his meter to measure coolant which was low. He told me the unit needed a new ************** This would resolve the problem. It DID NOT. Ctrl Boards are $250+. Coolant was added, the unit ran briefly until it leaked once more and the condenser stopped again. The **Board had NO bearing on a proper repair. G+G also over charged for excessive **** of coolant per the 2nd mechanical firm hired for an accurate assessment of the issue. G+G also erroneously charged for 2 visits.Business response

Dear G&G,
Thank you for the message however, we have had our phone discussions already and they did not lead to a resolution.
Your company deliberately over charged me for what should have been a simple diagnosis. Your technician did nothing to properly diagnose the situation and went further to compound the cost to me by selling me a part that the condenser did not need and then further, over charging for coolant that was unnecessary all with no fix or resolution to be had as a result of these missteps..
The ineptness of your tech.forced me to hire a reputable company which very easily and properly diagnose the issue for which I was charged an situation appropriate cost of $350 for all labor and materials .
The only resolution will be a credit of the cost charged to me in the amount of $936.69 and $199 for the amateurish services.
