The home at ******************************* had a new oil tank installed by Commtank in July ************************************************************************************************************** working order, based upon a service report from Alliance Express on 03-03-2021. ************************* requested that the missing oil line be installed as part of the original installation. Commtank stated that they will not install the oil line because it was a liability issue and the contract was with the previous home owner. ****** reached out to the company to correct the issue in December 2021. Half of the home is heated by the in-operable furnace, therefore, several room-sized electric heaters have been purchased to keep the home inhabitable.Customer response

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.Business response

The original contract with CommTank Incorporated was with ************************* the previous home owner and tying in the line to the forced air unit was not part of the scope of work in the contract. If the previous home owner had contracted to have the copper line connected to the forced air unit it would have been done. If the new owner had contracted with CommTank Incorporated to have the copper line connected to the forced air unit it would be done. There is a liability issue with CommTank Incorporated connecting the copper line to the forced air unit without a contract with that scope of work included.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.
I have received a credit card statement showing payment to CommTank from ************************* in the amount of $1375.00 on *****. I never provided a redacted contract listing the scope of work that did not include connecting the forced air unit. I was never provided a contract by CommTank to connect the forced air furnace after requesting that the service be performed , which would resolve the liability concern. I think this could have been solved by showing the contract, redacted if necessary, and if not part of the scope, offered a quote to complete the work.
Businesses and Customers should be civil, courteous and polite in their responses to complaints. It is important to remain professional and productive when participating in the BBB complaint process.
