My homeowners increased 100% from last year. I understand increases can happen but 100%! It doubled, I'm no longer going to have my auto or homeowners with this company.MAPFRE Insurance Response

I had Mapfre for auto and home for a few years. They seem great until you have a claim. 12 years living in my current house and zero homeowners insurance claims (and 10 years in my prior house and zero claims in that house), my 2 year old dishwasher pump broke and water leaked all over the hardwood floors and to the finished basement below. A lot of damage. Mapfre sends an estimator and told me I had to use their approved contractor to keep things simple. Contractor fixes the damage. I would say they did a mediocre job at best, but that's not the point of this review. A couple weeks later we learn during the repair the contractor damaged the water line to my refrigerator and it caused a slow leak.The slow leak caused more damage by the time I noticed it, I reached out to Mapfre and they covered it and I got it fixed.Then last month they sent me a letter saying they won't renew my homeowners policy due to excessive claims. I have had one claim in 22 years of home ownership, and a 2nd claim due to their contractor's error/negligence. It shows on my history as two claims within 6 months and now no one wants to insure me.Be careful out there - you have options for insurance. Horrible, STAY AWAY AT ALL COST! Hands down one of the worst insurance companies ever. Very unprofessional, don't know the law, low ball you and intimidate you with unreasonable offers and very slow like super slow. Wow now I see all the complaints they are the worst to cancel and they try to charge you a month after you cancel and come up with a bunch of excuses why instead of fixing the issue for the customer they have the worst customer service there all about money they can take from you saying your policy starts on a diffent date then you pay which I never heard of its a joke of a company and now I see why they have 1star they should have zeroMAPFRE Insurance Response

We purchased home insurance from this company in Sept 2023 with an agreed upon price of around $1800.00. The next month they upcharge us an extra $422.00 without calling or sending out a letter, simply sending us a bill for the money to our account online. Now we paid our bill in full to get the discount, so we were not checking our account (stupid but there you go), and so we accrued about an extra 60 bucks of late fees, because we did not know that the upcharge existed in the first place. We recieved a letter of cancelation in June of 2024, and we called to figure out what the issue is, and it took 3 days and three phone calls with 3 different agents for them to finally explain to us that the charge was due to an inspection evaluation of our home. When we asked why we never recieved a notification, they claimed they sent out a letter! ... We never received anything prior to the letter of cancelation from this company. This is just such a shady way to go about doing business. If you cannot promise to keep the original price that you sold us the insurance on, dont make up a bullshit lie about an inspection. And call your goddamn customers to let them know you're going to upcharge them an extra 25%. It's the least you could do. Do not choose this company. Whatever price they intially tell you the policy will cost, just know they will change it up, secretly with no notice, a month later to the actual price. Save your money.MAPFRE Insurance Response

I have been with Mapfre for over 20 years I received an email saying a drone went over my house and the picture they took revealed trees branches over my roof They gave me until 5/27 to have them removed or I would get a non-renewal notice Called them and was willing to work with Mayfre to give me rest of year to remove branches They refused to compromise and I have about 15 days to resolve issue or my insurance will not be renewed I have no trouble with technology and will admit something needs to be done There customer service STINKS when they will not work with the consumer All they want to do is find reason to dump their customers to save their bottom line I have every intention on letting my situation be known that Mayer in my book gets a 1 for service and customer satisfaction Hope others read this and let there feelings be known that this type of service is unacceptableMAPFRE Insurance Response

The short version: Mapfre has known for 7 months they did not plan to renew my home policy based on a grainy satelite photo of my roof. They only told me 50 days before my policy ends. Full version:I've been a Mapfre customer since buying my home in June 2018. Today, May 16, I was told that in October of last year it was decided my policy would not be renewed in June because of the condition of my roof. My agent told me there were explicit instructions to warn me 50 days before renewal, while Mapfre has know for half a year. The basis of the determination that my roof is in poor condition is from a grainy satelite photo my agent also shared with me. It's literally a pixilated rectangle. I'm told I personally would have to supply better photos or prove I've had it replaced, not repaired, Replaced. If it turns out by some random chance a repair is needed, because the photo they have is useless in this determination, I will have short notice to find someone to do the work and then take the huge financial hit. They should have come to me in October, when they knew what steps I needed to take. Instead it feels like they've set me up to fail. I called their "customer service" number to complain. There is no customer service option. The agent I reached told me complaints have to go through my local agent.Review from Kim V

I have been a loyal customer of MAPFRE for nearly five years now, however, MAPFRE has failed to pay three vandalism claims. Not only that, I was informed by MAPFRE that Louie C, the Agent, never communicated with MAPFRE about the vandalism. When I filed the claims myself and followed up - I was given a very off-handed and condescending treatment. The three claims that are still under review include the following:1. Claim: ****** 2.Claim: ****** 3. Claim: ********** Not only that one of the Vandalism claims, reported for April 8, 2022 is being considered as a "Hit and Run" instead of "Vandalism" because it offers a chance to MAPFRE to deduct higher deductible. The Gentleman from MAPFRE who is handling that Claim is Bradley C. To the extent, when I try reaching the MAPFRE team for the above mentioned claims - Bradley C tried manipulating that though they settled the claim as "Hit and Run" with the bodyshop - he could charge me separately for each damage - instead of claiming it as one comprehensive incident. I fail to understand why I am not being reimbursed, where there is so much delay and why is Bradley C manipulating the Claim that has been already paid for and why was no Police Report follow-up done.MAPFRE Insurance Response

I have had the worst experience with this company. While I was a policy holder, I never had any late payments, nor did I ever have any accidents. I moved to a new state that the company did not cover. No big deal so I thought. I terminated my policy and went on with my life. Come to find out they have sill been billing me for the last 2 years. I have tried terminating this same policy 3 times now. They have continuously given me the run around. At this point I am going to get a lawyer to expedite this process of getting my refund.MAPFRE Insurance Response

I have been with Mapfre for 22 years. nebver put in a claim . no tickets on my driving record. I was a step 99. I backed into a parked car. no one in it mind you. exchanged info. The other party put in a claim for $2,200 in damage. Mapfre dropped my step rating 96 points, and raised my rates 100 percent. My opinion is they conduct poor buisiness practice.They really don't deserve a star. Also I needed a windsheild replace from a stone hitting while driving and they put it in as accident.MAPFRE Insurance Response
