I built a house and hired quality stair treads to install the hardwood floor. First we met and we picked out the pre finish floor that me and the wife picked out. We asked to go with 1/2 to make the cost less effective. The floor we picked out was **** a sq ft. He sent me a quote that was $27,000 i asked him if this was included labor and he told me and my wife to our face yes. So we hired the company.. we talk to *****.. so paid ******************* this was after he sent me a text 3 months before install to meet up with him to give him cash so we save money on tax weekend. Now i hired his company and at the end of the job he sent another company to my house to install the hardwood floor at the end of the install he sent me another price for $12,756.13. I called him and he said you have to pay the guy that installed the wood i said what! i already paid you. So the company came to my house and sat out front in my driveway and said i am not leaving until i get paid. I felt very threatened and felt i had to pay this man. So I ended up paying him to avoiding an altercation. So i ended up getting scammed by ***** the owner and ended up paying about $40,000 for hardwood floor. If you look at reviews it seems this is not the first time and this is what he does to people. I found another home owner that he did work for and they had nothing but problems with the install with no communication skills to resolve it.. i believe ***** the owner should be investigated for fraud on scamming people on believing there paying for labor then hiring a different company to do the install then having that company ask for the money.. this is not right. I have a on going lawyer working on this right now and agrees there is a big case but wanted this to get out there before other people get scammed on what he is doing.

Customer received a sales order for flooring on 8/15 for a total of $24,000 (roughly **** sf @ $6.99 **).  This was flooring only, no labor. Customer also purchased ******************************************* and floor vents $1965.63 and $2262.11. Additional Stair noses were needed and billed $139.98.

There was never any mention of labor on any sales order . There was also in addition glue delivered to the site for the installation for $1794.00.

The installation was always extra. I was setting the installation up for the customer with someone I have used/recommended for years. We do not install, we are primarily a manufacturer and wholesaler that generally only deals with distribution and the trade. I did supply an invoice for the installation and glue so he had paperwork.

       We received payments totaling $28,727.

The invoice for installation and glue was roughly $12,400.  flooring delivered to the site, we took it back and issued a credit which was applied to the glue and unpaid stair nosing. I believe the customer paid the installer directly $8000, I was never paid for this invoice.

************* is in the trades. I believe he owns and operates a HVAC company.  There is no flooring I can think of short of cheap Vinyl plank that could be installed for $6.99 a sf. I would never ask, nor would anyone in their right mind  pre pay for labor months before the installation , especially someone that is in the construction business himself. During this process, the type of installation also changed because he informed us he was installing radiant heat which is why the glue was then needed. He was also informed the labor would be more. I am certain I told him initially he would be paying the installer $3 a sf for traditional nail down installation. Glue down is generally $1 more a sf. Everything was clearly in writing emailed with ************* stamps. The customer received itemized invoices for everything he purchased.

      FAQ

      Regards,

      ****

please send me all invoices, I would like the original proposal that you state was itemized.  I never sign or agreed to to the proposal your stating I saw. I paid you cash

Job because it was a tax free weekend.  your Right I own an HVAC company that's why I feel like your company is  a scam on letting people know how much it will cost

and then send them a huge labor bill. 99% of companies can tell you the labor of the job you new how much Labor needed to be done.  you know the sq ft of what needed to be done you state your a retailer did you forget to mention to me that you would be hiring another guy to do the job and that I would have to pay this man to come to my house and install flooring that I hired your company to do? as a business owner if hire a subcontractor I pay them and collect from the customer that they signed my proposal of the total job.

you also asked me to give you a register list that came in wrong so we talked and you reorder them and there still wrong. I don't even know the guy you had come to my house to install the floor. I also think that me paying for him to do my house and I had to pay for his labor for 2.5 weeks and he worked alone every day with no help.

it seems you forgot that this man was in my drive way refusing to leave with out getting paid. if you subcontractor the job to this guy wouldn't you be the one to pay him and then send me and invoice.

since the beginning of this whole job it has been nothing but sketcy with lies. **** a sq ft and only **** sq ft was done that does not add up to ****** and I get there are cuts that needed to be down but I bet no more then ***** worth of cuts.

I been in the trade with a lot of builder that laughed at me to my face when I ever said I paid **** for 1/2 wood pre stained in a warehouse. reminder normal hardwood floor is 3/4.

how ever far this goes I am just hoping someone does not get scammed into what you do as a company. but at least if you do and they catch you I am hoping some one will report the same problem of being lied into buying something. yes I made the mistake of paying you cash with out signing and agreeing to a proper proposal.
