Colonial Acres sold my timeshare in July 2023 on commission (30%) for $5000.00. I received a copy of the final deed in the new owner's name with no check for the $3500.00 owed to me. I contacted the manager (*****) on August 14, 2023 and she advised a check should have been sent along with the new deed but she would take care of it and send a check out. After waiting another month and not receiving the check I left several phone messages, an email and sent a certified letter. All went unanswered. I am out $3500.00 and and contemplating legal or criminal action after speaking with an attorney.Initial Complaint

Hello I purchased a time share at Colonial Acres Resort in ************* on November **** . I was in a relationship that broke up in 2008. The person kept the time share. In **** that person passed away. In December of 2022 I received a phone call from ****************** out of ************** collection agency trying to collect a debt for maintenance fees back to 2021. I had no idea that my name was still on this deed. Ive been trying to call Colonial Acres since December 2022 when I was aware that I owed this debt. The manager is never available to speak to leave a message or the message box is full. I did speak to on June 19th. She was going to lookup the information and call me on Wednesday the 21st to see what my options are for this timeshare. I have been calling Colonial Aces twice a day since then have gotten no return calls or messages. I paid the collection agency the sum of ******** because this was affecting my excellent credit that I have built up. Now fees are due again for this year. The timeshare is odd years. I was told by the assessors office in Yarmouth that the owner is Ocean Resorts ************** but the address they had was the same as Colonial Acres. I dont know what to do. I feel they made no attempt to try to contact me when the debt wasnt paid in 2021. I live in ******* now and I want to discuss with them what my options are. I hope you can help.
