      We hired Douglas concrete Jan 2023 to pour a concrete patio around our pool and laid him $6000 in deposits and we added to the scope of the project in Feb and signed a second contract to make a stair way and put a door and paid another $2500 in deposits. Work was supposed to start ***** *******. Douglas didnt show up and we contacted have many times to reschedule but he never showed up to do any of the work on any of the many rescheduled appointments for 2 months. And then he agreed over text that he hasnt need responsive and that he would send the deposits back but never did. And then did not respond to out demand messages or demand letter for returning the deposit.

      Please see the details below that were itemized in a letter to **** Douglas of Douglas Concrete that was overnighted on 7/12/2023. I have still not received a response as of July 27. The garage floor continues to degrade and shadings and bubbling on the surface appear as though something is coming through that will cause continual degradation. On or about March 15, 2023 the following unfair or deceptive act occurred:On March 15, 2023 ************************* (hereinafter ********) received a proposal from **** Douglas of Douglas Concrete (hereinafter Douglas) to fix the garage floor located at *************************************** (hereinafter the residence). ******** was informed by Douglas that the repair will last at least five to fifteen years. The cost of the proposal was $4,800.00. ******** agreed to the amount and the work that will be done by Douglas and employees.March 24, 2023 ******** paid Douglas on Venmo an agreed upon deposit of $1,600.00. Additional payments for the repair were paid at the time requested by Douglas.April 7, 2023 ******** paid Douglas labor costs of $1,300.00.April 10, 2023 ******** paid Douglas the third installment in the amount of $1,200.00.April 13, 2023 ******** paid Douglas the fourth installment in the amount of $700.00.Following the 13th of April and prior to April 18, 2023 Douglas informed ******** that the garage floor should be sealed and painted which will add an additional cost of $550.00. ******** agreed to this additional work and cost.April 18, 2023 ******** paid Douglas $225.00 of the first installment for the additional work of painting and sealing the floor.April 22, 2023 ******** paid Douglas the final installment of $325.00 for the additional work.Total amount of the work paid for on Carrieris garage floor was $5,350.00.Around the end of April 2023, Douglas and employees completed the work. ******** stated that the end product initially looked good. But during the weekend of May 6-7, 2023 ******** noticed areas of the garage floor that appeared to be bubbled and the top was crumbling off. ******** also stated that major areas of the floor showed different shades which made the floor look like something was seeping through from below the repair. ******** then notified Douglas on May 8, 2023 about the concerning areas of the floor. Douglas then informed ******** that he would come and check out the work. Douglas agreed to look at the garage floor on May 21, 2023. During Douglas inspection he agreed with ******** that the floor was not supposed to look like that, and he believed the issue may be a chemical reaction. On or around May 21, 2023 Douglas contacted ******** over text message that he would return to 8 Devon Road to correct the chemical reaction and start reapplying coats on May 30, 2023.May 30, 2023 Douglas text messaged ******** that he would be at the residence around 4:00pm. Douglas did not arrive and messaged ******** that he did not complete another job and had to reschedule. ******** and Douglas agreed on a rescheduled date of June 2, 2023.June 2, 2023 Douglas did not arrive at the residence. ******** contacted Douglas on text message to ask when Douglas would arrive, Douglas stated he would be running late because he was behind on a job. Douglas then promised ******** that he would fit in her repair the following week.June 5, 2023 Douglas contacted ******** and said he would be at the residence on June 8, 2023. June 8, 2023 ******** reached out to Douglas over text message to find out when he would come to the residence. Douglas informed ******** that he could not make it and that he would be at the residence on June 9, 2023. June 9, 2023 Douglas informed ******** that he was running late and asked ******** if he could plan an early morning the following week instead. ******** responded by stating that she spent over $5,300.00 and that this conversation has been going on for three weeks since Douglas stated he would fix the garage. ******** also specified that Douglas received her money and that she should be considered a priority. Douglas responded to ******** that he would be at the residence between 10:00am 11:00am on June 12, 2023.June 12, 2023 ******** did not hear from Douglas. ******** reached out to Douglas over text message to see where Douglas was, and Douglas did not respond.June 15, 2023 ******** continued to not hear from Douglas. ******** reached out to Douglas over text message that she will not be at her residence until June 30, 2023. Douglas responded that he would take care of it when [she] got home. July 1, 2023 ******** noticed that the garage floor was degrading even more. ******** notified Douglas that she returned home, and the floor has gotten worse. ******** also sent photographs of the floor and asked for Douglas to come to her residence first thing in the morning so that he cannot get caught up on his other jobs and reschedule.July 5, 2023 ******** did not hear back from Douglas, she contacted Douglas and expressed her concern for his lack of response and that the floor has not been repaired. In addition, ******** stated that she will now take alternative action soon if no there was no response from Douglas. Douglas then responded to ******** that he will let ******** know the date and time he will be at the residence the following day. July 10, 2023 ******** has not heard from Douglas.

      I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.  I am including photos that were taken from the time I contact **** to let him know that something was wrong until the beginning of July.  The floor continues to degrade.
