On January 9, 2023 Peterson Oil Service came to my home to fix my furnace. I had no heat for two days. Despite having a service contract with the company, it would have cost me several hundred dollars to have them do a service call on a Sunday. I opted to wait until Monday. Despite assurances that someone would call me on Monday morning, I had to call the company to schedule a service call. The man who came to the house was very nice and took about 2 hours to complete the repair. My heat has worked fine since. I did not receive an invoice for this repair and assumed that it was covered under my service plan since I did not get a bill. I also did not get a detailed report of what was wrong and what parts were replaced. On April 18, 2023 I received a bill for this service visit - over three months later. The invoice says a ball valve and a water valve was replaced and that it is not covered under my service contract. I was billed $28.31 for parts and $120.00 for labor. Since I have no paperwork from the date of service, I can't even verify that those parts were actually replaced. When I called the company and asked why i was receiving a bill so long after the service call, I was told they were "catching up with bills" since they had several people leave the billing department. That is not a rational explanation to me. I also received this bill one day after I informed the company that I was not renewing my service contract with them and I would no longer be their customer. I paid the bill of $150.08 on April 20, 2023.

I requested an oil delivery on 1/24/22 because my tank was almost on empty even though I had automatic delivery. By Friday my tank was empty and when I asked why I didn't get a delivery I was told there was no delivery in my area, they couldn't get the fuel and to call back if I runout of oil. The purpose of calling Monday was to prevent a run out. They have me using winter blend fuel even though I have an indoor tank. Now I know it's because my system won't run right using the bio-fuel that they sell. I have been a customer for nearly 20 years and can't believe they couldn't do anything to help me from running out of oil except to say call back when I run out. I requested my money back for overpayment of fuel that I never received but haven't heard back yet. When I log on to my account online all transactions have been deleted. Obviously I am no longer a customer so I would like my refund for the oil that I paid for but never got. I have another company that delivered oil the same day I called. Peterson oil has horrible customer service and no respect for their customers. I have also had issues in the past with my furnace not running correctly. That is when they switched me to winter blend fuel. I believe now this is because the bio fuel they were using wasn't burning right and messing up my system. The exhaust outside caused my house to turn black. They said they would clean it up but never did. I had a new chimney installed to vent the exhaust above the roof. After reading about the lawsuits and the fuel they use, I think that is why we had so many problems with oil. All I want now is my refund for overpayment so I can go buy oil from someone else.

hot water tank replaced 7/6/21. Paid $1200 ½ of bill. Leak noticed by ME, he fixed prior to leaving. ANOTHER leak noticed within 15minutes of repairman leaving so I called Peterson right away. Same plumber came, changed part (2nd leak seen after he said he was done by way). Paid $1258 remainder on water heater replacement bill 08/2021. Mid/late October received bill $415.50 from Peterson for part /labor (wrong part listed as well...$150 more than part replaced, as I watched replacement) from 7/6/21 leak. Bill says "customer touched things" per plumber to cover his behind which wasn't true (a lie). They won't return calls, send bills only with extra fees now. When I called told maybe they can deduct labor but manager needs to respond (no call back despite several calls to date). Since then, noises heard from system as not flushed (asked servicer to do in 10/2021 annual cleaning) by Peterson. Thus, hired outside plumber 12/2021 who said initial plumber 7/6/21 shouldn't have turned off water to boiler which was almost empty of water, & much air in pipes (noises throughout system which stopped now). Paid $225 to assess/fix via check. Much heating oil wasted heating "air" due to poor service from BOTH repairmen from Peterson & Peterson still sending me bill. I also authorize them for years to debit bank automatically only for oil delivered to get automatic discount. They didn't & added late fees. Then, charged $100 more than usual for annual cleaning. They need to take off the $415.50 charge, should owe me some oil, oil payment discount, fix late fees, owe $225 I paid to fix their error + apology. STOP OVERCHARGING & MAKING UP CHARGES JUST TO DO & RETURN CALLS. Horrible service & business recently.
