Better off buying on ******* The prices are at least 30% less and the return policy is far more consistent.
11 SEPT 21 purchased a 3-wheel walker for my soon-to-be 92 YO mother who still lives independently. Turned out to be too unstable for her on the thick carpeting. Returned the same day, a non-issue. The receipt showed a 30-day return policy, and I was told as long as it wasn't used outside, it was returnable.
18 SEPT 21. I brought my mother to Annapolis Healthcare Supplies to pick out a walker she'd feel comfortable with. Again, confirmed that it's returnable as long as it's within 30 days and it's not been outside. She chose a $270 walker.
23 SEPT 21. Mother calls to tell me that she nearly fell using the walker. It's not sturdy enough for her carpet. I told her to fold it up, put it to the side, and I'll return it when I see her in a couple of days. I'm an hour away.
25 SEPT 21. Seven days after the purchase, I return the walker to Annapolis Healthcare Supplies. The representative was absolutely marvelous. She explained that she didn't have the authority to credit more than $25 and that she had to call to get approval. She got Mary Ann on the phone.
Mary Ann suggested that I leave the walker there, give them my credit card number, and to call on Monday to determine if the product was eligible for return. I said, "No."
The lovely representative walked over to the walker and pointed out a stain and something of a mark on the handle. I took my finger and got rid of the "stain" and there was no obvious mark that looked as if the walker was damaged. The representative told Mary Ann that all they had to do was wipe it off and they'd be able to resell it.
Interestingly enough, when I brought my mother to the store on 25 SEPT, someone bought the yellow 3-wheeler that I returned the previous week. Funny how that worked out for Annapolis Healthcare Supplies when they do the right thing without a debate.
I insisted that I speak with Mary Ann, because I wasn't returning on Monday and the receipt clearly says that there's a 30-day return policy.
Mary Ann must have asked the representative how much she sold during the day, as the rep said (paraphrasing), "I sold around $1800. It's a good day." That was when Mary Ann gave her approval to accept the return and credited my mother's account.
If you're looking for a consistently exceptional customer experience and reasonable prices, then I suggest ******. The EXACT SAME PRODUCT at ****** was $70 less and their return policy is exceptional.
I told the rep that I'm not shopping there again and she said in a non-judgmental or sarcastic tone, "That's OK." She's right. It is OK. I hope Mary Ann knows what a gem she's got covering for her.
Being a small business doesn't give Annapolis Healthcare Supplies the excuse to provide inconsistent, finicky return policies to their customers. That's just bad business.
Pity that we have to go to such lengths for people to do the right thing, isn't it?
