I met with Deborah ***** to make payment and arrangements for my mother to come stay at her assisted living facility, I gave Debbie 2400.00 in certified funds on April 12 with the expectation that she would be coming to live there on April 13. I signed all the paper work, and my mom was to sign after me, ratifying the contract. However on April 13, Debbie called to tell me she couldn't take my mother and I needed to come pick up her stuff. I came and picked her stuff with my son in-law the following day, however she wouldn't give me my money back. We left thinking we had all of her items, but when we returned home we found that she had kept my mother RX's, canes and other items. I returned that Saturday on April 17 to pick up the remaining items and had to contact the police because the items weren't on the porch as promised. The police came and she brought out the missing items along with a check for half or the $2400.00. The check bounced. The following Thursday Debbie called to say she would except my mother, that was April 22. I refused due to the poor treatment we had received. Also all my mothers mail was left in the rain and disposed of. She couldn't even take are of mail. I have filed several Civil services to meet her in court, but she tells the Sherriff's people she has moved. They didn't know that they were speaking with Debbie. She is the owner of Open Arms and runs the Assisted Living out of her own house, which Legal aide assisted me with to help get her into court. My mother never signed her portion of the contract, which I still can't get a copy off. I have filed to have her served in the District Court, 4 times, and she ducks out on them, or speaks with them, stating she has moved, when she is the one speaking with them. My mother has passed and I want my money back along with all the fees paid to the court for trying to serve her.
