I bought 4 tubes of DAP Clear Silicone it was suppose to turn clear after it was dry but it never did after a month now. bar code on 1 of the tubes **********. I called the company and told the lady at this email *********************************** I did not have the receipt for the 4 tubes because I bought app. 4-5 months ago. I had bought before with no issues. She said there was other numbers on the tube and there was not, she bascially called me a liar. I sent a picture of the tube and a picture around the window where it showed the color being white, not clear. She then said just send 4 pictures of the side of the tube and a picture of where I put product. I did then that was not good enough. She then said I had to have the receipts..I told her I explained to her at the beginning I did not have it and she then told me to do all of this for nothing. Now I have to go and cut all this out around the windows becasue they are tan and white look offel. I was trying to be nice and just ask for the money I spent on those 4 tubes.Business Response

As per our email communication with Mr. ********* DAP communicated our warranty policy with respect to his refund request.
As indicated on Mr. ********* product package label and DAPs product literature: GUARANTEE: If product fails to perform when used as directed, within one year of date of purchase, return used container & sales receipt to DAP Global Inc., *************************** ********************************************** for replacement product or sales price refund. DAP is not liable for incidental or consequential damages.
Although Mr. ********* has not provided the required information as required by our written warranty policy, DAP will issue a one-time goodwill settlement check for the average retail price. The average retail price of the product is $4.28. Given that he has claimed 4 tubes, DAP will issue a refund in the amount of $17.12.Initial Complaint

I bought this product on ****** and then at ********** in May of 2023. This company is guilty of false advertising. This is nowhere near as strong as wood. It cannot be tapped, drill or and will not securely hold nails or screws. It is weaker than drywall plaster when fully dried. It is like drilling into a sugar cookie. Everything that this product advertises to be is a complete lie. I had to dig it out and it destroyed the wood even more. Then I tried the professional version or DAP that advertises to be 3 times stronger than wood and contain real wood fibers.Same result. It's about as strong as a sugar cookie when dried and turns into a nerotoxic, cancer causing health hazard of a powder when you attempt to drill into it or s**** into it. I had to dig it out too and by then the wood was unsalvageable and needs to be replaced. I had two window repair people come out and they told me that it will cost $1000 to $2000 dollars to repair. This product has caused me an incredible amount of stress and wasted time. I am very upset and disappointed with this company for being dishonest and committing false advertise with it's products.Business Response

I bought Dap calking sealant 4 different times and it always cracks within a month. About the 600% stretch and the quick seal one and spent 24 dollars on it. My bathroom I don't even use yeah still cracked in a month.Business Response

We are not clear as to the reason for presenting (what appears to be a simple refund request) to the BBB, as we have no record of a refund request being presented directly to DAP. Bought 5 tubes of there DAP 300ML, Slate Gray, Polyurethane Waterproof Concrete Sealant. the stuff is hard and i can't get anything to come out of the tube. tired taking it back to the store but i'm past the return time and they are out of stock so have nothing to exchange it with. contacted DAP spoke to someone named Jason C. **** he refused to help would not offer any replacement for another type of caulk that would work with concrete. they refuse to take responsibility for the product that they made and claim to offer a lifetime warranty on. they just tell me to take it back to where i bought it did that twice and it was a huge waste of my time. they refuse to stand behind the product they make.Business Response

Please review DAP's prior written response with instruction on how to obtain a refund of your purchase price.
For reference, as indicated on the product package label, Technical Data Sheet and in our prior written response:
SATISFACTION GUARANTEED: If not satisfied with product within one year of purchase, return used container & sales receipt to DAP Canada for product replacement or sales price refund. DAP Canada & its affiliates will not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages under any circumstances.
In order to obtain a refund of the purchase price, the return of the used container and presentation of the sales receipt (to the point of purchase or directly to DAP) is the responsibility of the purchaser. DAP does not provide “a pre paid label” for purposes of obtaining a product replacement or sales price refund.

I purchased DAP mouse shield in January of 2023. I purchased *** ******** Ave at ****** Hardware. The man recommended I used this after I explained mice was coming from hole in my cabinet. I decided to use it on March 23 tired of seeing the mice. I used the foam and it exploded then burst into flames. Burning the cabinet and me. I have first and second degree burns to my left side of my face, neck, ear, chest and arm. One of the worst days of my life. I was badly burned. Thank the Lord I am here. I would have never used that product if I knew it would cause fire. Thank God my son did not help me or my daughter. I am a single mother and being injured is devastating to my children and me. I have been in so much pain. I would like it to be reported to the company that this product is to dangerous to lose. Thank ful I did not lose my life or that the burns were worst. I am effected for life. No one should use that product if it can cause so much damage. I hope no one loses their life using it.Business Response

I used the 8oz DAP stainable plastic wood according to the directions and the product failed to perform correctly and ruined my wood resulting in 100's of dollars lost. I have two full wood walls that have been installed. We used this product as directed to over the holes up from the crown stapler. Once we tried to stain it it would not take properly. It left light patches and dark patches all over my walls ruining the wood entirely. This wood cost me 100's of dollars that was ruined and had to be replaced costing me another several 100 dollars. Upon calling DAP they informed me the directions are not labeled correctly. The representative audibly sighed once I informed him which product was used and noted this is a common issue with this product. It should be stained before filling however the directions on the package does NOT state that . DAPs own website has conflicting information in some places stating to stain before and in others stating it should be stained after filling. The rep himself stated it was labeled incorrectly. A supervisor called and hung up on me and said he wanted only email contact but hasn't reached out via email. I feel DAP should be held responsible for the damage incurred and loss of money because of failure to have proper directions on their product.Business Response

I purchased Dap Clear Kwik Seal Kit/Bath caulking from Menards on 1/2/23 and applied this product on 2/21/23. Since then, the product has been shrinking and cracking which now allows water to get between the tub surround and tub joints. I call a Dap rep at ************ to ask about this issue. I told them I used this on my recently installed surround system on 11/21 and the contractor used a caulking that did not have the same issue. I told them it was a MAXX Surround system and the **** ***** told me that the product performs poorly with MAXX systems and that I should have used another product called Amp. I told her that there is no warning about not to use this product on MAXX systems and she said they can't put that kind of information on the product. I told her you know this is a fact and that would have been a deciding factor in the decision before I performed the work needed to do this job. I told her I wanted to escalate this to another representative and she told me that there wasn't anyone else I could talk to about this issue. She said that I could take it back to wherever I bought it and get a refund. It took me over four hours to properly remove, clean, and apply the Dap product. The lack of caring, communication, and ethical treatment of selling this product with prior knowledge of its poor performance and allowing me to use it knowing of its poor performance is unacceptable! I would normally insist that the company pay for a contractor of my choosing to remove their product, re-apply another product of my choosing to keep water from leaking, and damaging my bathroom walls, floors, and the adjoining ceiling below. At the very least, they should put this information of the inability of this product to work with MAXX systems on their product. If the company representation would immediately be responsible for my request to take care of this issue, I would accept it. I doubt that is going to happen. I need to take care of this issue ASAP! I purchased a total of 15 tubes of DAP wood filler last September to patch porch and table used 6 and have 9 left The product states" repairs cracks,holes, is shrink and crack resistant strong nail and screw anchoring, dries to a hard finish." The product I used is crumbling see attached?? Warranty states "if product fails to perform within 1 year "call for sales price refund. I called and was told they will not refund an Amazon order and the purchase is 11 months ago and seller stated to call DAP? I will not put blame on him with Amazon.
