Requested *** ******* to mark our newly purchased property in August. There was a broken tracer wire for the gas service. As advised, I contacted BGE and was told that it would be addressed. I called back no response. In October I could not wait longer and hand dug the trench for my electric line. Found the other end of the tracer line. Called BGE, even saw a supervisor who was working on a nearby site within 200 yards, they still have not fixed this issue which is clearly marked. On December 20th called to turn on gas. At the request of Cecil County Permits, we had the gas line within the home pressure tested in the weeks before. The gentleman that we spoke with was told that there was a lock on the valve. He said it was not a problem and service would start the next day. Spoke with BGE regarding no service and was told to call and proclaim it was an emergency since we had no heat nor could we turn on the water since the pipes would freeze, Man was sent on Jan 3. Told that they would be there between 8 and 6. Sat in a cold house or car until 5:40. Polite service rep said that BG&E would need to replace the riser and pressure valve and someone would contact me in about 2 days. On 1/23 - spoke with Jackie. Asked me to call back after 7 and talk with the service dept. I was transferred eventually to new business because of the mechanical things that they needed to do. Danyelle in new business sent email to another dept. Was told to expect call back within 48 hours. Called back on 1/25. Vernae tracked series of emails and said a design person would come out and that I would hear from them in a short period. Called back on 2/2 and Joy stated that they were in a meeting and sent an internal insta message. I have now received a bill for acct # ********** for two months for $50.90 and the gas is not turned on. I would only like for someone to respond to a process that began in August. BG&E is a disaster. They are not a service company.

I contacted BGE regarding my bill. There is a discrepancy between the amount listed on the paper bill I received and the amount displayed online. I was advised by the representative who answered my call that my social security number is not on file. I offered to provide the last four digits. I was informed that the full number is required to be kept on file. In addition, I was told without my full social security number I cannot discuss my account. I have been a BGE customer since 2015. It is unacceptable that a company with whom I do business can refuse to discuss my account because I don't want my full social security number on file.

BGE is a ****!!! Our bill started at $100-$150 the first year of living in our apartment. THEY AUTOMATICALLY ENROLLED US IN BUDGET BILLING, and started charging us $250+ per bill. We called and asked why this was happening, the LADY ON THE PHONE SAID WE WERE NOT USING THE BUDGET BILLING AMOUNT AND IT WAS SMART TO CANCEL IT SO WE DID. She DID NOT tell us there was a fee associated with canceling. We now have to pay them out of pocket over $1,000 ON TOP OF OUR BILL because they did not specify this. I have been fighting with them for months, their CS team is awful, and this company is a horrible operational ****. They dont work with you or tell you how things work and take all your money.

My BGE services are unfairly billed so high, they are unsustainable for my family. I am requesting my deposit be refunded or applied to my existing balance. When I purchased my home, 9/30/22, BGE required a service deposit of over $300, stating it was because my credit score was less than 999. BGE gives a homeowner 5 days to pay the bill before it is considered past due at the amount of both months, instead of the current month, and before the next month has occurred. For example, December's bill is due Dec. 16th and is $177.00, January's bill processes on Dec.21 and is $310.00, if December's bill is not paid by December 21st, the amount past due as of December 21st is $487.00 and a cut-off notice is issued. Because the cut-off notice was issued (on Dec. 21) for both January and December's payments (even when the $310 isn't technically due, the cut-off notice stands. This impacts the deposit because BGE refuses to return the deposit, even once the balance is paid. It is reviewed once every 12 months on a date they do not disclose. On that date, they review the previous 12 months, and if any cut-off notice has been issued, they keep the deposit along with any interest accrued. You'll note there is no mention of the deposit or the accrued interest on the bill, and from December to January the bill doubled with no marked increase in usage. BGE's practices are predatory and prevent American homeowner's from every receiving their deposits if they cannot pay their bills in full in 5 days. BGE has the monopoly on energy services in my area. There are no other options. It can't be legal to keep my deposit indefinitely. I deserve to have my deposit returned or applied to my bill.

BGE is a regulated utility. Based on the customer's concerns regarding their deposit and BGE's Collection practices, BGE believes it is best that the customer files an inquiry with the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC). The PSC is BGE's regulating agency. In addition, the PSC will investigate the customers concerns, using the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) as a guideline.

HI, I moved from Baltimore to Ohio in 2018 knowing I did not left any debt behind in MD. BGE reached out to me about 12 months ago, stating that I owe the around $46 for electricity. I stated that I paid all that was due before I moved out from my apartment of Towson Md, I did not understand why they are saying that I owe anything. As you can see in my credit history, I always pay my debt but for this one, I refused to pay as I believed it is a lie. BGE always charged a lot for electric and gas but despite that I always paid my bills until my contract ended with my apartment complex who also stayed with my deposit despite that I paid a professional cleaner to clean the carpet before I leaved the apartment where I stayed only 6 months out of 12 months as I moved to OH for a job 6 months after I signed my lease. Not sure if the apartment complex is the ready why BGE is putting that charge on me. If so, why wait for 3 to 4 years before reaching out to me. I know it is a *****, so I decided not to pay. But they put it on my credit, so it show up as a debt when someone pulls my credit. How did I know about it? It is when I requested for a credit, that the bank told me about that charge which wasn't there when I purchased my house and car few months prior. I writing to complain about BGE. I want them to remove that debt from my credit report as I do not owe them anything in the best of my knowledge. They are just trying to mess my credit up as I was an obedient client while under contract with them, they are trying to squeeze me further. I disagree with that practice of wanting to lie in other to get money from someone. I want that debt removed from my credit history. No one or company has complain about me in the past as I pay my bills and on time but this one is a ***** and BGE needs to remove it. Thanks for your assistance in this matter. I greatly appreciate your help. I can't wait for a good outcome in my favor soon. Thanks!

There was a bill in my separated spouses name that apparently he did not pay. I dont live at the address but am trying to rent the home due to my separated spouse not living there either. My tenant was denied service due to the bill in my separated spouses name that was cancelled prior to me getting a tenant. My separated spouse has been living in a hospital due to a stroke and heart surgery and is incapacitated and is never going back to the house and is instead going to a nursing home eventually. I called BGE and they refused to provide service and the bill is 22,000.I asked why let would let it get so high, they should have turned it off when it was payable. I asked what can I do and the supervisor Chris id #2204 told me they were unwilling to work with me and will not cut back on service unless its paid. I told them the bill belongs to my separated spouse and he should be responsible for it. I even asked them to work with me and he told me they would not work with me and all of the money is due. I thought BGE would work with me especially after one of the customer service reps said this was the highest bill shes ever seen. I dont understand how they allowed a bill to get so high it cant be paid and the only way they will cut it on is to have it paid in full and I cant afford to pay 22,000.

Each month we receive a bill from BGE like the one attached here. Each bill shows a credit less a delivery charge of $9.43. The problem is that we installed a complete solar system in 2017 that provides our power and transmits extra power to the power cables of BGE. As you can see from the bill, we are not using BGE power most of the time. BGE gets the benefit of our power in their system. There should not be a delivery charge. However, we are not receiving credit for the cost of the power generation that BGE is avoiding and the power that they are using that originates with us. Every bill has a delivery charge. Every bill lists a credit of $25 to $30 but they are not additive. We should see a credit totaling thousands of dollars for the past 6 years. We've called BGE but got a company standard reply that we have received the correct credit. I believe that we've earned at least 12 months x6 years x$100 per month = $7200. Can you investigate this matter and find out how they justify their determination?

Baltimore Gas and Electric replaced our outdoor gas meter during the summer of 2023, without our knowledge and without an explanation. We called them and they said that they don't have to tell us when they do anything with the gas meter. Later we learned that they used ill fitting pipes causing the meter to become unlevelled - leaning forward and downward. We also learned that this caused a kink in the copper pipe, resulting in a gas leak. We contacted Baltimore Gas and Electric a few times to fix the problem that they caused, but they refused to fix it, saying it was our issue and we had to contact a certified plumber to fix it. Then Baltimore Gas and Electric turned off our gas, leaving us with no heat, and having to pay $600 to a plumber to fix the problem.
