    First off, let me state the irony of the fact I went to Planet fitness on 4/16 to downgrade my account. I no longer wanted to be in the PF black membership which charges $25 per month. Instead, I wanted to downgrade my membership to the $10/mo membership. However, after speaking with Dale *********, I was told I had to cancel my membership completely. I complained and pointed out I really didn't want to cancel my membership but they have no way to change your membership. So I received an email with cancellation details. My cancellation date is listed as 4/16. My last day to use the club is 4/17 but I just checked my checking account and just got billed - $24.99 on 4/18. Effectively they are billing me after I can use the service they provide. Further, the documentation says the request effective date is 5/16/2023. How can it take a whole month to process a cancellation? how can a company continue to charge after they no longer provide their clients access to the service they are charging for? When I called the local club, they said it is because I cancelled within a "10 day" period but that does not vibe with the 5/16 date seen on my documentation, again a full month after I cancelled. When I asked about speaking with national customer service, they said, "you can google a number". When I found a number for national HQ, they say, "each club is a franchise that has its independent owner". So I guess that is their way of saying everyone makes their own rules. I am going to continue to investigate this. I plan to continue to investigate this and would like to be made whole by 1. either getting the most recent $25 refunded or allowing the final use date to reflect I just paid for another month of exercise 2. reaching out to national "planet fitness" to ensure this club's policies are in line with the national standards and 3. further pursuing investigation against this branch by consumer protection watch dog agencies
