Do your research free is not always free or better I was referred to the school a year ago just for an extraction after the extraction I was talked into a care plan. I know it would be a year and some before I would get out of this care plan, They billed my insurance as much as they could all the way up to the point where I had to now expense the cost. They talked me into getting extractions that I didn't come in there for services for, but they said it would be covered free under my insurance. They never gave me documentation or an outline of the timeline. They just kept on stringing me along and telling me that in the end I would get replacements for the teeth that they took out as in partials and it would be at a discount rate. And in the process, I have not gotten yet we were close to getting the dentures, but I had a very unprofessional experience with the business manager by the name of K. Simmons, who spoke to me like she was selling used cars at a low budget corner, she tried to negotiate , whether she was going to give me the discount and the amount, even though it was promised to me, she told me that I had to present notarized letter. Nothing was in writing. It was just verbally said. She tried to negotiate with me and influence me to take the amount without the discount and she would accept not being notarized, but if I were to make a fuss about it, she would not do anything for me . Came down I live 45 minutes away limited with the income I had to pay a parking fee for the appointment. I was originally there for my last fitting and then to pay a partial payment. It never happened because of the business manager involvement, she ended up telling me that nothing would be done and I could leave and come back when I had the paperwork notarized, but keep in mind. She said she would take it if I agreed to the discount that she was trying to give me which did not include additional discount that was told to me previously I am trying to The state of Maryland

ZERO: Billing department and staffers are not complaints to helping their patients.

I was a patient at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD) in 2018 and 2019. I had extensive work done and a couple of years later when the bridge broke, they were rude and refused to fix their mistake even though I was told they would ensure their work. I had also written a letter about the negative treatment I received and how rude the staff and residents were that I never received a response to until 4 years later when I gained access to the school's directory by becoming a student (majoring in another specialty-not dentistry, of course). The Patient Ombudsman finally responded to my letter about my concerns that I had written 4 years prior, and completely ignored my patient rights (which, they list on their site) and made excuses for the facility and told me not to return because they do not know how to handle themselves ETHICALLY. ************************ is one of the primary things that most dentists face in this country and they are not equipped to deal with patients who have panic attacks and anxiety when dealing with dentists. If you want quality work, and a caring dentist who upholds their mission statement and does not deny their patients basic rights, please ask your primary dentist for a referral for anywhere else but UMSOD! If you suffer from ******* or *********** (fear of the dentist) or get panic attacks, PLEASE GO TO A PROFESSIONAL DENTIST WHO UNDERSTANDS THESE COMMON issues. You are not the problem, if a facility cannot properly help you with your concerns and anxiety, they are the problem!
