On November 25, 2022 I went to D&W office and gave them 2,502 got the keys when I went to the unit it was horrible it was bad the kitchen and the bathroom had roaches it was dirty no one cleaned it the bathroom ceiling was falling the bathtub was OMG horrible, that place was not in any way safe to live in at all I don't know how it passed *** inspection there is no way so when I told them that I would not be moving in they started acting like I was crazy I went to the housing place on Wednesday and canceled my application I also took the keys back to D&W office and now no one is letting me know about my money and when I'll be getting it back I asked an attorney to see what I can do they said I am intitled to get my money back since this was not my fault at all. All I want is my money back I and when I asked them when they act like am asking for to much I feel like the company needs people that know what they are doing and to start treating people with a little more respect because of this I am staying at my daughter apartment for now I am moving to Delaware mid Jan with my fiancé.Initial Complaint

Me and my mom (joint rental) have filed multiple maintenance request for over a year that either have met w/ very little diligence or half attempted work even AFTER getting their own rental inspector to make sure the home is compliance to rent it (which DW advised me after I asked for a copy of the report, they've never had a tenant ask for documentation when it comes to movement related to where they stay, especially after an inspection not orders by us). They worked on mold in a room a month and a half after and never finished the dry wall. I also have multiple orders for maintenance still needing attention like my light switch in my bathroom that's been on file for over a month that keeps cutting my power on despite it being to Off which i let Dawn know is a electrical hazard and runs up my power bill. I was met w/ "we have the order but has not been assigned yet" (again, over a month now). They are quick to hold you to the cross w/ money owed but slow in reciprocity when it comes to what they need to do. And they wonder why their case at court was thrown out "with prejudice". Get. It. Together. Every rental place i mention DW to cringes or looks like they've seen a ghost based on their reputation w/ other competitors in their business market which you would think would be enough to move with more polish to validate them believing they can compete.Initial Complaint

To whom it may concern, I'm writing this complaint regarding the unethical business practices of D& W properties located at ******************************, MD 21225 . My property is being managed by this company and I'm being charged outrageous fees for work that was not authorized on my home t. In the year 2021-2021 I was impacted by the COVID crisis like many other home owners. My tenants did not pay rent for the entire year of 2021 . When the Moratorium was lifted I was able to evict my tenants which left me in a further financial distress due to the eviction and clean up fees . I spoke to Chad **** in person regarding my house and what needed repairs prior to it being ready to rent . Chad stated that the basement needed immediate attention due to water leakage and mold was starting to grow . He also stated that the second bathroom floor needed to be changed . I agreed to the repairs that Chad mentioned . A few weeks later I received a call from Chad saying the he was able to apply for renters assistance and would receive over 16,000.00 on my behave I was happy I would be getting relief form the assistance . D&W received state renters assistance for over $16,000.00 for my property due to tenants not paying rent . When the check for the renters assistance was received there were I was not notified and noticed on the owners portal various charges for repairs that were not authorized I called the office with concerns about the charges and spoke with Amber and she said she was not responsible for the monies collected and Chad would call me about the repairs . Needless to say Chad did not call me . All of the funds collected from the state were depleted with unauthorized repairs . I finally drove 4 hours to Maryland unannounced and had a meeting with Chad **** with concerns. I requested pictures of the property prior to repairs because I was not convinced my property did not need over 16,000.00 in repairs.Initial Complaint

Upon moving into my new apartment back in November I expressed you done right services that there was an apparent water leak in the ceiling or roof due to water stains in the paint and the drywall around the ceiling. They acknowledge the problem and told me that the situation would be taken care of expeditiously. Fast forward to January the 2nd... And my ceiling starts to leak right where the water stains were noticed back in November. After putting in an emergency maintenance request, a maintenance man has been on my roof five or more times to address the problem. Yet, my roof is still leaking. Before January the 27th... The leasing office and business offices of done Right service have done nothing to correct or fix my problem. On January 27th Dunne Wright finally sent over a roofer to check out the problem. The roofer came over walked around on my roof for 10 minutes and left, did absolutely nothing to solve my problem. Now, two days after their roofer came to inspect what was going on... There are MORE leaks in my bedroom ceiling. Originally it was one area of concern now it has grown to four areas of concern. At this point I fear my bedroom ceiling can fall in at any day due to its condition after being subjected to water damage since November 2021.Business response

Unfortunately we are not permitted to perform work on all of the properties we manage. We immediately informed the owner of the property that performs his own work and he indicated that the repairs were done, once you informed us otherwise we addressed it again by sending our roofer there to inspect and then were told by the owner that he was doing the work and we were not permitted to do the work. We have been informed that the repairs have been made and there are no further issues, if this is not he case then please contact this office at once.Initial Complaint

I HAVE BEEN RENTING FROM THIS COMPANY SINCE 2015 I RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT THE I HAD TO MOVE BY AUGUST 31ST, 2021 BACK IN EARY MAY OR JUNE TODAY IS OCTOBER 14, 2021. I HAVE CALLED TO CHECK THE STATUS OF MY SECURITY DEPOSIT WHICH THE 45TH DAY WILL BE TOMORROW 10/15/21. I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TO ASK THE STATUS HAVE BEEN HUNG UP ON, CURSED AT AND TOLD BY 4 DIFFERENT PEOPLE THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE ANSWER AND THAT ALL MANAGEMENT ARE IN A MEETING. MR CHAD LANE SPECIFICALLY HAS CURSED AND DROPPED THE F BOMB AND HUNG UP THE PHONE. I SIMPLY WAS CALLING TO GET ANSWERS REGARDING MY SECURITY DEPOSIT AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO PROVIDE ME WITH ANY INFORMATION. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. MANAGEMENT AND EMPLOYEES REFER TO YOU AS HUN AND SWEETHEART SPECIFICALLY MS LINDA WHO WORKS AT THE FRONT DESK. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN OR MANAGED BY NEW EMPLOYEES WHO ARE ACTUALLY IN THE FIELD OF PROVIDING GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY HAVE CHARGED ILLEGAL FEES IN THE PAST.....Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/15) */ Unfortunately Ms. ******** there are always 2 sides to the story and then the truth. The truth of the matter is that this company fulfilled the legal requirements of returning your security deposit. You called this office prior to it being due, and when the person you spoke to could not help you, you then yelled and screamed at them. You then proceeded to repeatedly call our office. Once we accommodated you the next morning by emailing you documentation, you came to our office and refused to leave unless you spoke to someone due to you disagreeing with legitimate charges that were due to damage to the unit by you. The police were called which resulted in you being banned from this property. This company has given lie after lie to the times I have called where they said there was no one there to give me that information to them stating that the police were called, yes they were by ME, the police gave me the information I needed to file a civil case against this company and thats all I needed actually truth be told this company does NOT know how the placed looked because I was already a resident prior to them taking over the property for management in 2015, again another LIE ! I got the information I needed to file and have already began my paperwork on Fayette Street.. See you in court !
