I moved into an apartment on May 10, 2022 that was said to have been updated. When I entered the premises it smelled like someone had smoked in it, the HVAC filter that had been changed at some point that is extremely dirty was left on the side, mold is on the caulking around the shower and the dryer vent was not hooked up and palmetto bugs were found on the ground crawling. There was cobwebs in the corners of the rooms near the ceiling and in the closets. This place is not been cleaned properly and when i went to the management to tell them it smelled like someone smoked in the apartment they stated that they had walked in a few hours before and didn't smell it. I do not smoke and I know what smoke smells like and I am very sensitive to the smell. These are labeled as "luxury apartments" and if you are going to label them as such it should be represented as that. The smell was disregarded and the following day maintenance was supposed to come in and fix the issues and they never did. My partner has a service dog and herself and the dog are now being affected along with myself with the smell and our nice things are now going to be ruined with the horrendous smell of this smoke in the apartment. At this time it is hard for me to stay in the apartment for long periods and nothing masks the smell. This is starting to affect her service dog along with our health and if this affects her service dog to the point he cannot provide the service needed for my partner I will be researching other avenues to get some responsibility and ownership of the poor quality of this apartment. I have contacted the management office and no one returns my calls or you can't leave a message. At this point I am going to get a lawyer involved if I am not contacted regarding this matter and will be bringing this to the attention to the Department of Justice for the violation of the American Disability Act as the environment provided in this apartment is affecting a service animal.
