My car was totaled in April 2023, and I purchased GAP insurance for the vehicle when I purchased it in March of 2022. AUL the extended warranty company the dealership was utilizing, gave me a break down and said I would be issued a Gap waiver refund and the adjustment for service contract I’ve financed through the dealership in the amount of $1552.66. I’ve spoken to Patriot Auto and I was referred to the previous owner Mr. Roy *********** because they currently no longer utilize Aul as an extended warranty. Now I’m getting the run around for months after the claim was settled and thats the only 2 things left to be issued to me. Never again

I purchased a car from Patriot Autos on December 14, 2021. I drove my new car for 10 days, before I dropped it off on December 24, 2021 to get a scratch taken off, which the dealership agreed to do when I purchased it. On December 29, 2021, I got my car back. I was able to drive my car for two days, before it broke down because of a transmission issue on January 1, 2022. Since it was less than 30 days after purchasing, and my car was under warranty, Patriot Autos agreed to handle the repair of my car but I had to pay for it to be towed to them. From January 1 - February 18, 2022 my car was at a Chevy dealership. I received a whole new transmission. After two weeks of driving, my car broke down again on March 6, 2022. It is now back at the Chevy dealership for a second time. I have spoken to the dealership and they have told me that they do not believe it is another transmission issue, and whatever is causing this problem will not be covered by the warranty and I will have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. I have spent thousands of dollars on car rentals, car insurance, and 2 tow trucks because Patriot Autos sold me a damaged car, and would not provide me with a loaner car or rental. I have spent exactly 30 days actually driving this car that I bought almost 3 months ago. Throughout this whole process, Patriot Autos has been impossible to communicate with. While my car was at the Chevy dealership the first time, I was constantly calling them to get updates on my car and no one would answer. When I would get ahold of someone, I would be transferred to their service center's voicemail. With this second break down, I went in person to Patriot Autos and they told me that there is nothing they can do because the car is now fully mine. I am at a loss. This car is costing me thousands of dollars and I have barely driven it. It should not have broken down twice in two months. This dealership has hundreds of great reviews, but I am being completely ignored.

I went to the dealership to sell my car. They offer me $1200 to pay off the car. Then I was given a check of $854.94. In my co-signers name. They never sent the pay off check to Bridgecrest. I didn't get any copies of the paperwork because they gave me a check for the amount I would get once they pay off the loan. I kept contacting them but I was ignored each time.

      Business response

      12/09/2021

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/07) */ it was a 10 day payoff that was transacted last week. We sent check on our end there is nothing we can do if her bank hasnt credited it to her account Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/12/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The dealership claimed they were going to pay off $11,145.03. That amount pays off is good up to 10 days from 11/27/2021. They offer me $12000 I asked if it was okay for me to come in on 12/01/2021. To get the loan paid off. They were able to sign me a check for $854.94 on 12/01/2021 But failed to tell me they wouldn't send them $11,145.03 right away Time has been so hard during the Pandemic. No one cares about anyone's financial situation. All I'm asking for is some Compassion. I would have asked them to send the whole $12 000 to *********** for the loan to be fully paid while my rent had been late in December. But I'm asking for too much. All they had to tell me they wouldn't send the check right away, and it would take several days before *********** (car loan place) gets the check The payoff amount is $11,223.52 up to 10 days from 12/08/2021. By the time they send the $11,145.03, the pay off amount will be higher But why would they care? They can afford to pay their bills. Why would they care about someone they don't know. They got what they wanted from me. They will most likely sell the car for more than $12000 and fix it up. I don't understand why I wasn't told the check would not be sent right away. Instead, I was ignored and had to file a complaint to get a response.

On July 3, 2021, I purchased a used 2015 Kia Sportage from Tara @ Patriot Preowned Autos. At the time of contract, I was offered an extended warranty from *******. I informed Tara that I did not want the warranty coverage and she informed me that I would have to speak with the manager. The manager Harold came over and informed me that if I did not purchase the warranty the bank would not finance the vehicle. I agreed to purchase the warranty because I really wanted the truck (which turned out to be a lit). When Tara came back to finish the paperwork, she advised me to make my first payment and then contact the company to cancel the warranty. So that is what I did. I made my first payment to ********** on August 1st. waited 15 days for the payment to clear then called them to cancel the warranty. They (****) informed me that I had to contact the dealership regarding the warranty cancellation since the deal was still new. I called Patriot regarding the cancellation and was told to leave a message for the manager. After a few days I never received a call back, so I called ******* directly regarding the matter and they informed me that I had to cancel through the dealership as well, so I called the dealership back. On August 27th I received a call back from the dealership advising me to contact the accounting office to request the cancellation. I sent the email and received a response on September 2, 2021, stating that she would process the request. On September 13, 2021, I sent a follow--up email regarding the matter and received a response on September 16, 2021, stating that she would have to follow-up with *******. Then on September 18, 2021, I received a response that they were waiting for compass to process the refund. After that I did not hear anything from them until I reached out to them again on October 16, 2021 & October 21, 20211. On October 27, 2021, I was informed that the request was sent to ******* and that she would follow-up.(see attached)

On October 18, 2021 I purchased a 2017 GMC Terrain from Patriot pre-owned autos located in Baltimore, MD. We put $3,500 down and got financing from ***********. On October 19th I called asking for them to check the vehicle because it had acceleration issues. The service manager would not help me, but on Oct. 22nd, while driving the vehicle it shut off and the check engine light came on. Matt the office sales manager took my call Saturday Oct. 23rd saying the service department is closed during the weekend, and I should call back Monday. Monday Oct. 25th I had the vehicle towed to the service department and Tues. Oct. 27th we picked the vehicle up and experienced the same issue, this time my 1 year son was in the vehicle while in motion and the vehicle shut off in the middle of traffic almost causing an accident. Oct. 27th we called Patriot Auto, to reach Matt, but he wasn't in the office, so we spoke to the Finance Manager Brittany. I spoke with Brittany around 11am, she said she would call us back with a resolution of either fixing the vehicle or putting us in something else, she hasn't called back. I tried calling back around 2pm, and was told she was in a meeting, so we decided to file a complaint with BBB for help.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/28) */ the customer came here today and issue was resolved she just was not getting what she wanted and she was not the person even on the car loan so we told her we had to speak with that person Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2021/11/06) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) The issue hasn't been resolved as of yet, I am still without a car I just bought and trust that you all will fix the car you sold to me or switch out for another one with the same like an type or similar value. And I do appreciate you all for giving me a loaner car for the time being. Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2021/11/15) */ The complainant contacted BBB to share that the situation has not yet been resolved. Business Response /* (4000, 30, 2022/02/07) */ We definitely would like to work this out with the customer. We were under the impression this was fixed. Can you please let us know where this stands as of now and we can get to a way to resolve.

I financed a vehicle from them in Nov 2020, got the car fax at the time of purchase, thoroughly went over the paperwork. I took care of the car, maintained it as recommended. Oct 2021 the engine seized on me bc of a Hyundai recall, I'm a single mother so I had to figure something out. Had the car taken to Hyundai, but called patriot in the mean time to see if they could help, they could not take the car as is bc it wasn't worth the hassle as a trade in, fair enough, however they said if Hyundai approved the car they would take it as a trade in. Tara, one of the sales reps, said she would take a look at the vehicle herself if need be. Got the call that Hyundai would do repairs and called patriot to get the process going. They ran my credit multiple times, even though they knew I wanted to finance through my current finance company, hitting my credit score for no reason. Gave me false promises, and in the end did not want to do the deal w/ me bc I did not want the extended warranty they were trying to give me. it makes your loan longer, and as a single mother I need all the money I can get. I was there for hours, they did not have anything organized, and bc they do not have cubicals or booths nothing feels confidential or private. They're not really there to help just there to run your credit and take your money to put you in debt for years, bc most of their interest rates are going to be sky high. And bc they mainly work with bad credit they know how vulnerable you are, and take advantage of that. I ended up causing a scene bc they give you the run around, and when your car has issues they make it seem like they don't want to help, or take accountability for selling a car that has false information, or a lack of information on the carfax report. After their done with you, they want nothing else to do with you or the vehicle you spend your hard earned money on. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM, MOST OF THEIR CARS HAVE BEEN IN ACCIDENTS ANYWAY!!!

      Business response

      11/04/2021

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2021/10/28) */ the lady could not present us with the car at time of trade in. it was at another dealership supposedly getting fixed. We told her we need the trade here with the title Consumer Response /* (3000, 9, 2021/11/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Again their response shows how unprofessional they really are.. They said at the time when I was trying to trade the vehicle in, that they WOULD TAKE the vehicle as a trade in as long as Hyundai would approve and agree to paying for the repairs for the vehicle. Which is why I went back to patriot autos that day because Hyundai approved the repairs. Tara one of the sales reps said she would go to Hyundai and take a look at the vehicle IF NEED BE to be able to process the trade. The ONLY REASON they didn't want to do the deal was because I did not want to add their extended warranty on the new vehicle loan I wanted to purchase my own, because adding that extended warranty would've made the new car loan more expensive. Patriot autos takes advantage of those who have bad credit, trap you in bad loans that really DONT help your credit, and terrible extended warranty's that don't help when you really need it, they know there are people out there who are truly desperate for transportation. No privacy or safe keeping of anyones personal information or records at this dealership, and they throw numbers at you on a piece of paper that they've written on to get you to sign off on a car. Truly despicable. Especially because the general manager, who all of the other sales reps report to looks like he's on drugs all the time, wearing sunglasses inside, and wants you to lie to your loan company about the amount that you put down on a vehicle. They ran my credit multiple times, knowing that I only wanted to try and finance with the loan company I was currently with, and at this point the only thing I want is those hard inquiries taken off of my credit.
