Sold a 2016 Dodge Journey with a $2,000 warranty that I later found they charged me $4,000 for and it doesn't cover half of what it claims. The ****** was also false. I later found that the car had a accident on it. I purchased the car in December 2022 and it broke down with major engine problems in July of 2023. It has been at U. S. Motors since September of 2023 after taken it back and forth and they are refusing to repair it and to reimburse me for deceptively charging me for a warranty.Business response

Dear *****,
We are well aware of your issue and have discussed it with you multiple times. You have put over 20,000 miles since you bought it last year ( well above average), you have also purchased an extended 2 year warranty, the price was disclosed on a bill of sales that you have signed at the time of the purchase. The warranty is valid and you have done repairs to the vehicle at another repair facility.
As we explained to you prior, once your vehicle was towed to our lot, mechanics have noticed that vehicle has been worked on. You acknowledged that it was at another repair facility due to over heating issues and they repaired your vehicle. Once we checked the vehicle we noticed check engine light on and vehicle overheating. The check engine light had codes for low voltage, possibly due to the weak battery, which we replaced under warranty. The overheating issue shop refused to touch since we do not know what was done at another repair facility, you were advised to check with the previous shop. You picked up the vehicle and said you will deal with the previous repair shop yourself.
Two month later we get your vehicle dropped of again, the same over heating issue, no explanation what was done at another repair facility, nor any type of explanation? The vehicle has been sitting on ** ** ******* lot since then, we are not aware of any progress you have made with them.
We are not a repair facility, we are not aware of any dealings you have made. We suggest to contact ** ** ******* yourself and get an explanation from them.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/24) */ Fw: We received a complaint # ******** on your business External Inbox Tadas C.Wed, Feb 23, 5:27 PM (18 hours ago) to baltimore.**@bbb-email.org In response to Mr. *******' complaint, Mr. ****** bought 2016 Dodge Journey on 02/01/2022 at US Motors dealership. After couple days of driving Mr. ****** informed that check engine light came on while driving- the vehicle was checked at our mechanic shop and found stored code for small evap leak ( most common for having loose gas cap), issue fixed on the spot. After another two weeks of owning the vehicle Mr. ****** complained that check engine light came on and vehicle started to loose power while driving. Our mechanic tested the vehicle and found vehicle throttle body to be dirty ( very common for these vehicles), as a precaution the new throttle body was installed, vehicle tested and showed no signs of previous issue. Last Saturday 02/18/2022 Mr. ****** brought vehicle back saying that it was acting up once again and check engine light is on. Our mechanics found no check engine light on at the time, but decided to run multiple diagnostic tests and found a small manifold gasket leak. The new gasket was installed and vehicle road tested, no faults were found what's so ever. Please note that Mr. ****** was provided a loaner vehicle each time repairs took place and all of his repair requests addressed on timely and proper manner. Regardless of our courteous service MR. ****** would act improper with our employees by speaking loud in demeaning manner. Mr. ******* recent demand to give him his money back cannot be satisfied as he is a lawful registered owner of the vehicle, the only option at this time would be to trade vehicle in. Mr. ****** has to understand he bought a used vehicle and some issues might occur and to ease his worries the vehicle was sold with 12month 12,000-mile warranty.
