I registered my daughter for a summer camp at CTY that will start in July 2022. I made a deposit of $850 on 12/21/2021. Due financial hardship, we could no longer afford the summer camp which is about $3000 for two weeks. I contacted cty on 3/29/2022 to withdraw and they told me their in person camp has different policy than online camp and it required that I withdrew in early March to get full refund. However they said that I could submit a exception request and see if a refund can be issued. I submitted a request and subsequently sent several follow up email and they replied that the request will be reviewed on a bi weekly basis. It has been almost a month and I have not heard replies despite the follow up email. The inconsistent policy of different courses confused consumers and they don't have a person with the authority that can be communicated directly. They indicated that financial hardship can be considered but they never got back to me through this system. I am disappointed at CTY for not being considerate of the hardships and for the lack of response, communication, and flexibility. $800 is a lot of money for us. My husband's income has been negative due to the pandemic and my son is on financial aid. I indicated that even partial credits will be appreciated but no response has been received from them. CTY's summer camp is extremely popular, and I don't think they will have problems finding a replacement for the spot, as there are waitlists, especially there were still 100 days from the time I withdrew to the start of the camp. I see no reason that we have to be penalized in this manner and without a person of authority to talk to.
