In December of 2021, Oriole installed a french drain in our basement. I wish they had been up front about the damage they were likely to cause. We paid $14,000 dollars for the work performed and were left with quite an additional bill when they were done. They installed drains in our window wells which meant they cut out pieces of drywall under five windows. Oriole did not mention this part on the front end. The repair estimate for fixing that is $1351. The laminate floor is significantly scratched and damaged from the crew dropping gravel on it then walking over it. Numerous pieces were broken when removing it. We cannot salvage the floor. They broke a plumbing pipe while moving a pump. Oriole told both my wife and I they would take care of having it fixed. Oriole later said that was a misunderstanding and we would need to have it fixed at our own cost. Our plumber came out and that bill is going to be $400. The jackhammer hit the baseboard in numerous places in the finished rooms they worked in, now those need to all be replaced. We told Oriole in our initial walk-through that we'd like them to swap out the old window wells, they said that would not be a problem. That never happened either and now they have poured concrete in the old wells so we cannot change them without significant cost to us. Approximately half way through this job (after basement concrete was done, but two weeks before Oriole installed our windows) they demanded full payment. The owner Frank told me around 2pm on a Friday that full payment was due by the end of that day, and that it must be cash. I had to withdraw approximately $10,000 which he directed me to deliver to his wife at his residence at *****************., Bel Air, MD. To change the window wells, replace the wood flooring, fix the drywall, and replace the plumbing we estimate needing to $10,000 dollars.
