On Friday, August 5th 2022, Maryland Online Puppies, LLC. and its owners collectively "Maryland Puppies" entered into a settlement agreement with the Maryland Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. The action settles allegations that the business continued to sell puppies after the "No More Puppy Mills Act" banned these sales in Maryland back in January 2020. Under terms of the settlement, Maryland Puppies is barred from offering, selling, or transferring dogs in or from Maryland. Maryland Puppies also agreed to refund payments made by Maryland consumers that purchased dogs in poor condition since January 1, 2020, or pay for their treatment. Lastly, Maryland Puppies was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $75,000, which increases to $250,000 if the company or its owners breach the agreement.
This Agreement was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.

the puppy was 18-20 weeks old and very quickly started showing signs of being neglected and perhaps emotionally abused. He would not recognize a pad although we were told he was pad trained. he would not stop crying and barking when we put him in his crate, he would scream continuously. we had a trainer and an assistant vet come look at him at home for a hefty fee. the evaluation took few hours and we were advised that the puppy is not a good fit for us as he missed out on socialization in a critical period of his life. with broken hearts, we took him to the animal shelter for surrender. We came to know later that he was doing well. there were many red flags like the lack of screening, we never got to meet the parents, etc. As sweet s the puppy was, I do think he was left out there to care for himself, no training at all.
