I brought my car in for service on Tuesday 4/25/23 Pohanka Volkswagen, **** ******* ******* *****, Capital Heights, Md *****, complaining of a noise while driving, and was told the car would not be looked at until Wednesday 4/26. On Wednesday, I received a call from the mechanic stating they didn’t hear the noise, but instead I needed rear brakes pads and rotors. When I asked what about the noise, I was told the car was test driven and the noise I described was different then what the mechanic heard and it was suggested I replace **** “ based off of out of spec findings, but not certain this will fix customers concern.” I declined the service, because the mechanic was uncertain this will fix the issue. I do not have money to spend on presumptions; after spending $858.31 on brakes/rotors which included a diagnostic test of $169.95. I went back on Thursday, were I am told a 2nd diagnostic test was performed and to actually ride with the mechanic to hear the noise. My complaint is in regards to whether or not the diagnostic test was ever performed. On Saturday, 4/22 my car would not start. It was discovered that I needed a battery, unrelated to the noise, but if a diagnostic test was performed, it should had detected that a battery was needed. I am requesting a full refund of the diagnostic test $169.95 claimed to have been performed. I reached out to the service manager Laura Pohanka (family own business) who refuse to take my calls. I guess she feels entitled because her name is on the side of building and good customer service does not matter. I have been a long stating and loyal customer at Volkswagen Pohanka, but I have lost confidence in the mechanics and the customer service is unsatisfactory.
