On Saturday, May 18, my wife and I patronized the store looking for formal wear for an upcoming Hindu wedding. I picked out a suit, and my wife (reluctantly) decided on a skirt, a top and a scarf. The clothing needed to be altered, so we left everything but the scarf with the merchant. My wife changed her mind, and the next day (less than 24 hours later) I returned to the store and returned the scarf (with the receipt), verified that NO alterations had been done yet and returned the skirt and top. I was told they will only issue a store credit; they refused to refund my credit card. When I questioned it, they said the policy is on the receipt. The policy is not posted anywhere in the store, and logically speaking, if it's only found on the receipt, it's already too late. (I'll list the exact store policy notice found on the receipt below.) I took the store credit in lieu of any other options for returning the merchandise. Chances are, my wife and I will probably never need to buy anything else from there again. They have my money, and I don't have anything to show for it. I would like to be refunded for the amount of the merchandise that was returned. "Store Policy: No Returns, Exchanges Only Within 7 Days Of Purchase With Original Receipt. Any Used, Altered or Abused Merchandise Will Not Be Accepted For Exchanges/Store Credit. No Exchanges On Clearance And Final Sale Items."
