I hired Catons plumbing for sewer line replacement work due to root invasion. They came forward to do a free camera inspection to ascertain where the fault is. I got "carried away" by the nice talk of the marketing person and got a opinion these are real professionals. Then they told this work would cost me 10K+. I negotiated and they reduced (!) 20-30 dollars to bring it as round figure 10K. They kept postponing the dates due to various reasons after getting 3K as advance from me. Then one final day, they did the job and immediately got the remaining 7K from me. They just scribbled in a small receipt note and gave it. I was promised 5 year guarantee. When I asked for the final invoice, they kept dodging. Then then office assistant Trinity replied the "system" can not generate a final invoice (heard that?). After multiple failures and voicemails, one day I could speak to her and yelled at her stating that if she is not providing a formal final invoice bill or receipt 10K, I am going to inform IRS and leave negative reply in BBB. Then she had to send it. The 5 year verbally agreed warranty is now changed to 1 year. I had to waste my time and undergo mental tension just to obtain an invoice for the amount I paid. Such an unprofessional company. I am no sure about the quality of work done. Please try to stay away from this company.Review from Johnny K

Catons plumbing told me they hire by the job and not by the hour. They had me wait 4hrs til they showed up and told me the job was going to cost $146. I watched the technician tighten the p trap with his hands and then hand me a receipt. The job took no longer than 15 minutes at the very most. There were no parts involved & NO TOOLS!!!!! I called the manager and explained that they said by the job ! What would it have cost if they actually had to use parts and tolls ?!?!? The manager kept on going in circles and would refer to hourly and then go back to pending the situation. Utterly disgusted with this company. They said one thing and the. Charged me for the hourly of 15 minutes which can to $150Review from Sheri C.

We were thrilled with our experience with Caronsville Plumbing last week! They came out promptly and got right to work on our pipe repair. The plumber, Nick, was so courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. After they fixed our primary issue and were still in our home, they were able to help us solve another plumbing issue that had been a mystery for years. Will definitely plan to use them again for any future plumbing needs!Review from Petethenerd

Catons repaired my water line from the street to my home. They did the same repair prior to 2000 and then fixed a previous leak that had water running into my house under warranty around 2010. Within the last month the leak reappeared. This time it was under the driveway. I was not expecting a warranty repair (although this was leaking for probably 20 years because the drive way always cracked in the spot where the water pipe ran under the driveway since the original repair was completed.) Catons claimed that they had no record of this repair because I never paid them. This is true because the original repair was paid by the ********* settlement and not by me. The second leak was fixed under warranty so I did pay them -- there was no bill from Catons to pay.
For this repair they estimated $7,300 and discounted it with a $300 coupon and another
$300 making the total around $6,700. I live on Social Security and a small business income. It is difficult to pay my annual property taxes. So I asked for some help with the finances. Their financial service company refused to finance the repair. I was hoping for a no interest loan. Their no interest loan amount was $1,800 and no more. Any amount above that was financed as a usury (double digit) rate. By using my savings, I would make the double digit rate so this was a non-starter for me.
So I asked Catons for some flexibility in the payments. I proposed several options. First off they wanted to start work the next day. I could have waited weeks but I thought they (based upon the previous warranty repair) would work with me. So I gave them a check for the 20% deposit they demanded to start the work. This was a $2050 check.
I asked for some help paying the remaining balance. None of my proposals were acceptable. Their financial person said that they often waited 30 days to receive invoice payments. This was not good for me, but acceptable. Then the talked to the manager and called me back to say the remaining balance was due immediately upon job completion.
I was forced to write another $4,650 check before the service technicians left.
So this the poorest customer service I have ever experienced because I trusted Catons to work with me.
As a minimum, I should have had 30 days to get them the check for the balance. Also since they did a poor job with the initial repair (obviously the original copper repair pipe was defective), they should have done this repair at cost. They were greedy. I checked my banking account today and both checks have been cashed by Catons.
If I had not trusted Catons, and solicited several quotes, I likely could have saved money and gotten better financing. My mistake for trusting people.
ONLY use Catons, when they offer the lowest price, offer effective financing, and give an appropriate warranty. They are a greedy company.
I am a person of my word, I own my home, I have no outstanding debts, and my credit score is around 800. I recently missed a utility payment due to a mistake on the due date. That has been paid.
If there was a negative score I could give, it would be -10 for Catons.

These people freaked out when asked to wear a mask. If they can't comply out of basic courtesy they shouldn't be in the service industry. Horrible people. Horrible business.Review from Al K

I contacted Catons plumbing because my basement was overflowing. The lady on the phone was very polity and scheduled me an appointment for 3pm to 6pm. The repairman did not show up until close to 10pm. I was not at home so when the repairman called me to inform me that the sump pump needed to be replaced I gave him the "go-ahead" about an hour later he calls to collect payment. After he processed my payment I asked him if everything was good to go (I wish I would have asked before providing my CC info) he replied "yes I changed the sump pump but the issue is not fixed because the pipe is clogged or broken I dont know but the basement will continue to flod until the pipe is fixed..... Why did he even change the pump if the issue was the pipe?!!!! I called to expressed my concern and the manager offered to send a "camera man" to inspect said pipe. The camera man showed up (when I wasnt home) and inspected the WRONG pipe.... They are supposed to be sending the camera man again but if the issue would have been fixed when they were called I would not have spent almost $900 and still have a wet basement AGAIN. I am beyond disappointed with this company.
