I have 2 cars insurances in GEICO. One car engine broke in January, so Its trashed. I cancelled this car insurance at GEICO app. on Feb. 03. but today I get a letter from DMV said both of my car insurance was cancelled. I called GEICO to fix the mistake, but they told they can only start a new insurance from today, cant recover my insurance I had. This will cause my car not insured from Feb. 03 to today and DMV will fine me. I dont think I should pay the mistake their app made.

I cancelled my auto insurance policy #********** with Geico on October 16th, 2022. Instead of Geico refunding me the amount owed back to me to my checking account which I normally use on auto pay with Geico, they refunded the entire amount of $268.84 to a Vanilla Gift Card (which had come from a rebate I received from another company). I had only used this ******* Gift Card one time to pay them in the amount of $52.25 on October 13th and the remaining amount of $230.00 was taken out of my checking account at ***************** Credit Union previously on October 9th. Geico is refusing to refund me the money back to my checking account which I normally use to pay them. I do not want the entire amount on this Gift card. The reason being is that I had disposed of this gift card number once I had used it to pay the $52.25 to them. Now that I no longer have the gift card, having money on it is completely useless to me. I cannot use this card and I am now out the entire amount of $268.84. I have reached out to Geico on several occasions and was told that they could do a stop payment on that gift card and then send the refund back to my checking account ending in ****; however, when I spoke to a representative yesterday she said there was nothing they could do and that I was stuck having the funds on this gift card. They need to make this right and I need the funds back in a way that I can actually use them or else this money just went to a gift card that I cannot use.

On Wednesday September 7, 2022 I called Geico Insurance because I had just found out the my insurance was cancelled on Monday September 5, 2022. Before they let me speak with an agent I had to pay the previous balance in which I did not knowing that I would be told for me to restart my insurance policy was going to cost me $3800. The operator who answer the phone was very rude when I tried to explain and told him that I was unable to process the payment that I owed in given time because I was going through a financial hardship hence going out of country for a funeral in which he had shown no remorse and just said there's nothing he could do, I then ask to spoke to supervisor in which he refuses to transfer me and told me to go get insurance somewhere else and I should come back in 6 months and that was him being sarcastic before of my accent. At this point it was unbearable to be told you cant talk to a supervisor and how they was going to tell me the same thing that was being told by the operator, but without them even letting try see if I could work something out with them and I was unable to pay that amount in full he then asked if I have no one to help me pay it and told me he could call them if I want. I was embarrassed because I told him I had spend the last money I had paying for the money I owed for the insurance so I could get it back but he keep saying that I can not and neither can I be transferred to a supervisor. This whole incident have me traumatized and label because of my accent and also got me feeling somewhat useless and depressed because when I called a second time he was the one who answered the phone again and he knew me by name in which I found it kind of suspicious. Operators should know how to talk to people cause they do not know how hard we got work to maintain what the insurance and being 9 months pregnant and its making me really depressed.
