I entered into a contract with G&C Contracting to complete work on ***************'s new salon at ******************************* The total contract value was $279, 279. To date $132,150 has been billed for and paid. The contract was fully executed on 10/18/2022 and work was supposed to begin, per my request on 10/20/2022 as permits had already been approved. The construction schedule had a project completion date of 1/3/2023 and the contract itself stated that the "Contractor will make its best efforts to complete the Work within 13 weeks of receipt of the construction permit for the Work ". To this date, the construction has been behind due neglect from the contractor. Materials have been ordered late, workers are frequently not on site, there is no full time onsite supervisor, work does not get started nor completed for weeks, and the contractor frequently does not communicate with me. Attached is a more comprehensive list of breaches but below is the key one:Pursuit to section 5.b of our signed contract Contractor shall submit a detailed schedule for performance of the contract, in a form acceptable to Owner/s, which shall comply with all scheduling requirements of the Contract Documents and with Paragraph 6.a above- Contractor has still not submitted an updated, detailed schedule. The one submitted last year gave a completion date of January 3rd. Contractor is now over 12 weeks behind schedule without giving me any estimated completion date. Week over week I have requested an updates schedule and have not gotten any response on this request. On February 17th I again requested feedback on hard dates for when things might be completed. On February 21st I requested that the contractor use all of his efforts to complete the project as swiftly as possible and he has still not addressed my concern directly, nor given me an updated schedule. In an act of good faith, I have not yet terminated the contractor but will if contractor is unable to finish the job in the next 2 weeks
