I went to this practice in 2020. I did not have insurance at the time so I paid everything out of pocket. I received a call from a debt collector on October 8th, 2022 notifying me that Beautiful Smiles has sent me to collection because I have an unpaid bill of $52.00.....two years later. I have NEVER received any form of verbal or written communication stating that I have an unpaid balance. YOU CANNOT SEND SOMEONE TO COLLECTIONS WITHOUT NOTIFYING THEM ABOUT THEIR UNPAID BALANCE. Especially after 2 years. I called this practice and was told by an associate that they use a third party billing company and that they are having issues with the same thing happening to other people, and the doctor will call me back to clarify. The doctor did call but only to tell me that it is not her fault and it's common for people to not check their mail everyday. IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS. I am waiting for them to send me an invoice or provide proof that they did. This offices lack of communication is going to affect my credit score and it is against the law to send an unpaid debt to collections without ever notifying the client.Business response

On Oct. 13, 2022, I returned ******************** phone call in reference to the Collections call that she received. I informed **************** that statements had been sent to the address that we had in our computer system. **************** stated that she never received any statements from my office, and I stated that it was noted in her chart that a statement had been mailed. **.. ****** became very upset and infuriated. She stated that until she received a freaking statement that she would not pay her bill. I informed **************** that I would send her another statement. I also expressed that when she presented to my office on 01/21/2021, she presented for an exam and one x-ray, which the total 117.00; however she ended up having 2 additional xrays which were ***** each, and that is how she ended up with a 26.00 each, and that is how she ended up with a 52.00 balance. I have since spoken with *** ****** on Oct.24, 2022, and the issue has been resolved. I informed patient that I would write off the 52.00. Send her a statement showing that it has been written off. also informed *** ****** that nothing would have been reported to her credit report until Dec.1, 2022, if arrangements were not made to take care of the balance. *** ****** apologized for being disrespectful, and she stated that she would retract a review that she had written. I am glad that we were able to resolve the issue.Customer response
