These centers are Franchise owned. And not to be trusted. I paid $13,200.00 for my Grandaughter's Math and Reading sessions. After a few months they filed for bankruptcy and left with my money. Susan *********/ ********* was the person responsible for cheating a lot parents out of their money at the Austin, Tx. Northwest Center. Be aware she also owns some centers. In Kyle,Tx. Pflugerville,Tx. Albuquerque, N.M. and Summerville, S.C. I highly recommend you stay away from their false pretenses.

Waste time and money. The Center did not provide adequate services, the tutor did not know basic geometry and he was teaching SAT too. I have checked my son's assignment that the tutor helped him and all the answers were wrong.

My daughter who was 13 and in the 8th grade started April 2022 for math. They made her start all the way from 3rd grade level when she was currently in the 8th grade at the time. She is now 14 and just finished her freshman year. They started in one location at the mall that was small then moved to a church where it was hot and cramped during the summer. They kept saying they would be at the newer larger location and to this day they still have not moved. Once the location was moved from the mall to the church it was hard to get her there so they put her in zoom tutoring for 2 hrs. The tutor on zoom didn’t know how to do the homework she requested help with and had her work on what they wanted her to work in even though it’s wasn’t what she needed help on. Needless to say her grade went from a B to an F. I’ve made monthly payments even when she wasn’t attending . I requested a refund for all the hours she has not attended but still being billed for and all I get is the run around. I requested the refund process in May and we’re now close to the end of June. I’ve requested the total amount of hours my daughter attended to see if they match up with what I have and after 3 requests I still have not got the hours or an update on the refund. I will never put my child in this again. She would have had better luck with the high school tutors on campus then professional help . I’m fed up this is not professional.

I signed up my 7-year-old granddaughter to receive 2 to 3 days a week of tutoring at the Sylvan center in Algonquin Illinois. It started out fine but he was having trouble with teachers so he kept canceling classes. Initially he would send me an email saying the class with canceled or a text saying the class is canceled but at this point he won't return my calls he will not return emails he's closed the door on Mondays which was one of her days without even telling me that the business will be closed on Mondays. I have tried calling corporate I've sent an email to corporate I'm not sure yet if corporates going to be helping out. I've talked to another Sylvan business in Schaumburg Illinois. About transferring her there and it can be done but I need the cooperation of the man that I'm dealing with now. So in my opinion you need to make sure that this business is going to be open and do what it says before you pay all that money because now I called the loan company and find out that he got all his money up front so I'm paying my monthly payment but he really doesn't care cuz he has his money and my granddaughter is not getting what she's supposed to be getting.

At the beginning of December 2021, I was hired as a Director of Education for Sylvan Learning in Cypress, Texas. As a Director of Education, I was informed of the work hours, which were working mornings and evenings based on the business needs and I agreed during the interview process. On December 27, I began my Director training with the Center Director at the Cypress location. The training structure was very different than any other company I worked for, but I adapted accordingly and worked mornings and evenings. On January 7, 2022, my 11-year-old daughter's school district sent notification of a bus driver shortage and illness and I needed to provide transportation to and from school. At that time, I informed the Center Director of Cypress of this urgent matter that needed to be addressed immediately. She informed me it was not an issue to take and pick up my daughter from school and she understood things happen in life. Unfortunately, the bus driver shortage became more frequently and occurred every other day or every week. Each time the bus driver notification was sent I informed the Center Director and she stated she would adjust my work schedule without any reprimand. On February 1, 2022, I was blindsided with a prearranged meeting set by the owner of the Sylvan Learning center and the Center Director. During this meeting, I was told by the owner that my daughter's bus driver shortage was becoming a problem and they were no longer able to allow me to adjust my work schedule. I was told to find a solution for my daughter's transportation or I would not be able to work for Sylvan Learning. After the meeting, I realized how unprofessional and unempathetic the Center Director truly was towards the bus driver shortage situation would it was presented in January.
