Western Maryland Property Management began managing 3 ****** Street in ********** ** XXXXX in September of 2021. They did not take care of the lawn (they did not mow for 2 months at one point), did not maintain the inside of the property (I requested they fix the ceiling/roof when it collapsed in over my bed. Luckily did not hit my head), and the house was not structurally sound (not sure how the property is up to code since it seems like it is literally about to collapse). The management also had shady business practices. They texted me saying the tenants at the property would be responsible for all utilities. However, they cannot do this as the lease stated the tenants are not responsible for any utilities. They would have had to provide a new lease stating what the tenants are responsible for. I moved out end of July 2022 and provided a 30-day notice and termination of lease letter in May 2022 stating I would vacate by the end of July 2022. Within the letter I provided the address where I would want my security deposit sent to. Maryland state law states they must provide reason of withholding the security deposit. State law also requires they must do this within 45 days. They did not do this, and I escalated it to the Maryland Consumer Protection Division to get my full security deposit back.
