The original date of the transaction was April 30, 2017. I purchased two reconditioned rims for my 1988 300ZX. The purchased with the understanding that the rims came with a " lifetime warranty" on repair unless otherwise noted. There was no exception stated on the invoice. I have attached documents that support my complaint against Wheel Guys Incorporated. I am requesting the assistance of the BBB in securing the replacement or repair of the respective rims. I have attempted to amicable resolved the matter, but to date Mr. Fisher has failed to communicate with me to resolve this matter. Sincerely, William F. ********* XXX-XXX-XXXX.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/25) */ Contact Name and Title: Michael ******, President Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: ***********@gmail.com I originally received a call from Maaco body shop in College Park MD to inspect wheels on a 300z to see if they were repairable. Upon my initial inspection, the wheels were covered in aluminum corrosion and were missing material as well from damage. The wheels were deemed nonrepairable. Mr. Armstrong reached out to me to see what his options were. While speaking with him, I explained the situation with his wheels and said I would not refinish them and would recommend that he find replacement wheels. He stated that he was unsuccessful in sourcing a replacement set and asked me to source them for him. The only success I found sourcing a complete set of OEM reconditioned wheels was on eBay. I forwarded Mr. Armstrong the direct link for the wheels. He called me back and explained he did not have an eBay account and asked if I would be willing to order the wheels for him. I obliged him and ordered the replacement wheels from the eBay vendor for him. After the wheels arrived at my residence, I reached out to Mr. Armstrong to arrange meeting him at Maaco so we could exchange the wheels he ordered for exact reimbursement for the purchase. Mr. Armstrong wrote a check out for the four replacement wheels on 05/23/2017 for the total amount. Upon handing me the check, Mr. Armstrong requested a receipt showing my acceptance of his payment. The only receipt I had to offer him is a work receipt for repairs completed by my business. A few weeks after, Mr. Armstrong called with an issue to one of his wheels. I explained to him again that his warranty lies with the company he purchased from on eBay, and not with my business as the business only warranties work on repairs that we perform, as stated on our receipts, but I would be happy to look and assist him in any claim with the company he agreed to purchase through. When Mr. Armstrong sent me a picture of the mark, I offered to take care of the small single spot so that he did not have to return the wheel and be without a wheel for his vehicle. Mr. Armstrong met me again at Maaco and I performed a free repair for him and again explained that any future issues should be taken up with the company who he agreed to purchase from and had been given the information to, and he agreed. Mr. Armstrong called in August 2022, complaining of defects in 2 of the 4 wheels he purchased and texted me pictures of his wheels. I again explained to him that I was merely a third party to his transaction and the receipt he had was only validated as receipt of payment for exact money spent, but that I would personally contact eBay and try to request info for the seller. A few days later, I broke my cell phone during work and lost my texts with and the cell phone number to Mr. Armstrong. I had already begun interactions with eBay to recover any information for Mr. Armstrong's purchase. On September 15, to my relief, Mr. Armstrong again reached out. I thanked him and told him about the phone breaking and the loss of his contact info, I also told him we were working to find information for the seller for him. Mr. Armstrong was agitated and told me he would see me in court and he had a receipt granting him lifetime warranty. I carefully explained the warranty section of my invoice. I again told Mr. Armstrong that I was still working on attaining information for the original seller for him. Mr. Armstrong was told that the initial seller offered only a 3-year warranty on the wheels. Mr. Armstrong insisted that the warranty on his wheels was mine. It is not. On October 11, 2022, Mr. Armstrong sent an email to Wheel Guys Inc. This letter stated that he would be seeking help from the BBB if he did not hear back by October 25, 2022. Mr. Armstrong did not wait for another response, nor did he wait for the deadline he set. Mr. Armstrong feels that he is owed a warranty on wheels he purchased. Wheels in which I provided him with the source and all the terms and conditions that they offered on their replacement wheels. Mr. Armstrong only has a business invoice from my company because he wanted receipt of payment. My company invoices only state warranty on work that we perform. Replacement wheels are null and void of my warranty and only carry the original warranty offered by the seller. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/10/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I take exceptions to Mr. Fisher's response. First and foremost I never was informed prior to my original execution of our agreement that Mr. Fisher's or his company "Wheel Guys, Inc., Davidsonville, MD, that Mr. Fisher was purchasing the noted rims from an Ebay provider. Mr. Fisher seems to have now attempted to absolve his company of the warranty responsibility that is stated on the document attached to the invoice dated4/30/2017, refer to the warranty document dated 4/25/17. When I questioned Mr. Fisher as to who was the Ebay provider he has to date not furnished the vendor's name or any documentation to support his position that he purchased the rims from a Ebay provider. Mr. Fisher's recollection of events surrounding my purchasing the rims from his company, Wheels Guys, Inc., ************** *** is from my perspective and record is slanted and misrepresentative of the actual facts especially his failure to allow me the benefit and opportunity to speak with his Ebay provider regarding the transaction. I am standing secure that I never authorized or agreed that Mr. Fisher was acting as my Agent in his procuring the rims from a Ebay provider. Given Mr. Fisher's failures to resolve my complaint, failure to provide me with the name of and contact information for the Ebay provider and his failure to respond to my respond to my email of October 11st prior to October 19th, I felt that I was wasting my time to expected that I would receive a response by or before October 25th thus I decided to file my complaint on October 19th. Mr. Fisher's neglect in responding and his failure to amicably resolve the matter, is very apparent to me that Mr. Fisher has not desire or intent to honor the warranty that is stated on reference documents. For the record, I would like to state that I met Mr.Fisher at College Park Collusion, XXXXX ******** ****** College Park, ******** when meeting Mr. Fisher to remove and replace the original rims, not at Macco in College Park, MD as stated by Mr. Fisher. I thought that I was dealing with a very respectable vendor, based on a recommendation of the Service Manager of Macco of College Park, Maryland. Based on my experience with Mr. Fisher to date, I would NOT recommend Wheel Guys, Inc. as a creditable vendor to deal with. Regards, William ** ********* 10/29/22 Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/11/05) */ My last statement was factual. All the points discussed are true. Mr. Armstrong's purchase does not fall under the guidelines for warranty provided by Wheel Guys Inc. Mr. Armstrong continues pursuit of a warranty, that does not exist with my company, nor the company in which he was provided with the eBay listing for. His continued persistence in the matter is nothing more than an attempt to slander both my company's reputation and my personal character, each of which I hold dear. I currently service 95 clients who would attest to my efforts to achieve customer satisfaction and top-quality service where admissible.
