Today 3/19/2022 I went in for a full set of acrylic nails. The employee proceeded to use the standard acrylic powder and liquid (definitely not gel) I was charged for gel nails. I told her i did not get or want gel nails, but she insisted they were. Gel nails are a goo in a bowl applied to the nails. She used the standard powder and purple liquid... Acrylic. I was charged $45 for gel nails. Acrylic nails are a lot less ($25 i believe)

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/04/07) */ case # 36187804 Sharon white External Inbox T**** T**** Attachments 1:27 PM (4 hours ago) to me Hello There must be some kind of misunderstanding. We have a lot of customers coming everyday. However, we do recall a customer coming into the store and doing her nails and then when she came to check out she questioned why it was so expensive? isn't it only $25. We kindly point to the Service price list which hangs close to the checkout counter. When she first came into the store she asked for a full set, which is $30 already. when asked what color she wanted. She replied that she wanted white. Then we asked her if she wanted white gel or white regular. She replied that she wanted gel. After finishing the full set during the process of applying the gel polish we have to use the special UV light to seal the gel polish. Why didn't she stop us and ask if the polish was regular or gel? The ladies looked and based on her complaint she had been to the salon more than a few times to know the difference. From start to finish she never said that she did not know the difference between gel or regular polish nor did she stated that she definitely did not gel nails. All full set in the area in which I know all the owners on the eastern shore are my family members or close family friends. All full sets are $30 or more. When she went to check out she also said she was sorry that she didn't know that it was that expensive and could give a tip on the card. We told her it was fine and then she left. As you can see there is a price list that is almost 3 feet long on the wall in the attachment. The first item in the list is full set which $30 clear cover in 2 inched number. What we guess happened is that Mrs. W**** looked online and saw an old picture online and saw the full set to be $25 online, google or review. please let me if you have any question or comment. i sincerely sorry for the delay because my unlce didn't give this to me in time for me to reply before the deadline, my Father in law just pass away also i was out for pregnant leave. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/04/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Thank you for your response and im sorry for the personal troubles that you are going through. I wanted to respond to say I did not agree to gel nails, if that question was asked I did not understand/ hear. The last time I had my nails done was in 2017, I had acrylic, and i thought it was strange that the uv light was being used on acrylic powder, but I didn't say anything since it has been so long since i had my nails done, i assumed the process had changed...also I did research on the difference between gel and acrylic after I left the salon thay day. I had no knowledge of the process of gel nails when I was in the salon, I had never gotten gel nails before because they are too expensive for me. It seems it was an unfortunate misunderstanding. Also after being educated on what gel nails really are, I still disagree with the price I was charged, since only acrylic powder was used.
