Fitness 19 gym for several months has refused to repair or replace broken recumbent bikes. I told the staff that if the recumbent bikes are not fixed, I would request a refund of my membership. In the process of getting my information, fitness 19 staff called police to remove me from the gym. There was no crime committed. As a big black man, I strongly believe the employee’s actions were racially motivated. There was no need for her to call police.Business response

Mr ****** decided to berate my staff of 17 and 18 year old girls via screaming and threats in which the police, who agreed that the call was valid, were contacted. Mr ****** has only been to our establishment 2 times since August and found a machine down and decided he wanted 6 months of membership returned. He checked in on the August 27th and 28th and then no more until the date of this issue. Our equipment is constantly used and serviced regularly. At times a piece of equipment is unavailable but 99% of our equipment is available at any given time to use. To claim that this issue is racially motivated is absurd being as though I too am African American and I agreed in the calling of the police.

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/09/07) */ The customer has heard from us. They did not receive the answer they wanted unfortunately. The membership they signed up for almost a year ago does not include an additional member, only a guest. The water and towel service are available which that complaint was never brought to our attention. They are asking for a full refund which will not be happening. If the customer would like to cancel after the last 9 months of having the membership, they can do so and receive the prorated refund of the remaining time on the membership. This full refund request was received in August with an immediate response. The name on this complaint is not the name on the membership which has check in records of use this year.
