      I had an in-home appointment on the calendar for March 16, 2023 between 10am and 12pm for a technician to come to my home to install new batteries in my power wheelchair and I got a call on Tuesday, March 14, that they can no longer keep this appointment. This appointment has been on the calendar for over 2 weeks, and I confirmed it with The Scooter Shop on March 1. The reason that I can't get a technician to come to me appears to be because I live in Clinton, MD which would be a 2-hour drive around trip. The Scooter Shop website states that they service Prince George's County and not just portions of the County. This is the third time that I have had to fight with them to get a technician to service my chair. When I purchased the chair from the The Scooter Shop, I was not told that getting service on it would be an issue. My husband requested to speak with the owner, Jim ********, and was told that he was not available and that they would have him call us me back. We have had no call from him, nor has he responded to the email that I sent him. I need help getting this issue resolved.

      We were told Mrs. ****** would confirm bringing the chair to us since she was going on vacation because we wouldn't have a technician to visit her anytime soon. I actually brought up to my staff 4 days before the non-confirmed appointment by her, that if the appointment is still pending for this week for her to bring it in, then we need to cancel. She never confirmed or responded what she was actually doing. We do not have a technician "in house" to take walk in repairs. As far as servicing PG County, yes we do. But, at this time we are extremely tight with distance. Unfortunately our schedule has its limitations and our staff asked if Mrs. ****** wanted us to refer you to another company to repair the power chair. She refused any type of assistance. This is when she became irate and disrespectful to my staff. After this was discussed, Mrs. ****** threatened my staff to report us to a news outlet and the BBB. From my standpoint, this is very unethical and appalling. The Scooter Shop will no longer provide service for her. Threats to my staff and my company will not tolerated.
