The contractor did a remodel of 2 rooms in the basement. The contractor was used prior to this for a kitchen and bathroom project. Problems started at the onset of the remodel in the basement. We started noticing problems in the bathroom that was remodeled prior to this. The new window inside the shower wasn't sealed nor was the shower door. Nail heads began to pop thru the ceiling. The faucets on the sinks were leaking. The inside back wall of the vanity was damaged. In addition, the siding that was used to replace the siding that was removed when the window was installed didn't come close to matching the existing siding on the house. The contractor came back and repaired the nail pops in the ceiling, the fixtures on the bathroom sinks and the leak on the tub. The faucets and tub around the shower door continue to leak. At the onset of the remodel in the basement the following problems occurred: During demolition and cutting the drywall the proper precautions weren't taken to cover things in the house. As a result, there was fine dust in the downstairs and upstairs which required a lot of cleaning on our part. A closet was built to enclose the circuit breaker. We were informed this was necessary as it wouldn't pass code otherwise. The closet ended up to be too big and another one needed to built. During installation of the drywall on the ceiling a line for the water softener was accidentally drilled through and the basement flooded during cycling of the unit which happens 3 times a week. The contractor initially installed a fitting where the line had been drilled through. Within 24 hrs it began to leak around the fitting. The contractor was notified and at this time a plumber was sent out and replaced the fitting once again. The problem appeared to be resolved until 3 months ago when it began to leak again in the ceiling and down the wall. The contractor was notified and the ceiling had to be cut out and repaired. The repair work wasn't done to our satisfaction.
